We are hiring an experienced Electrical Construction Project Manager to lead large-scale commercial projects across healthcare, institutional, industrial, and complex commercial environments.

This is a hands-on project leadership position within a self-performing electrical contractor. You will take direct ownership of projects from preconstruction and turnover through field execution, financial management, and final closeout.

The ideal candidate understands commercial electrical systems, can effectively lead field and office coordination, and has a proven ability to manage multiple active projects without heavy oversight. You will work closely with general contractors, clients, foremen, BIM/VDC, estimating, prefabrication, vendors, and internal leadership to ensure each project is delivered safely, profitably, and on schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial electrical construction projects from preconstruction and project turnover through completion and closeout
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, manpower plans, procurement timelines, and execution strategies
  • Coordinate electricians, foremen, subcontractors, vendors, general contractors, and internal project teams
  • Serve as a primary contact for clients, inspectors, general contractors, and other project stakeholders
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, schedules, RFIs, submittals, and scope requirements
  • Manage project budgets, cost forecasts, labor productivity, billing, and overall financial performance
  • Prepare, price, negotiate, and track change orders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Coordinate with BIM/VDC and prefabrication teams to resolve conflicts and support efficient field installation
  • Partner with estimating and preconstruction teams to ensure accurate scope turnover and project planning
  • Identify labor, material, scheduling, and coordination risks before they affect project delivery
  • Lead project meetings and provide clear updates regarding progress, staffing, costs, and operational challenges
  • Oversee procurement, material deliveries, subcontractor performance, and project documentation
  • Maintain accountability for safety, quality, schedule, profitability, and client satisfaction
  • Manage multiple active commercial electrical projects across Michigan

Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial electrical construction project management experience
  • Direct experience working for an electrical contractor or self-performing electrical construction company
  • Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, field operations, sequencing, and installation requirements
  • Proven experience independently managing projects from preconstruction through final closeout
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, schedules, contracts, and construction documents
  • Experience managing project budgets, labor productivity, forecasting, billing, and change orders
  • Ability to coordinate field teams, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal departments
  • Experience managing multiple active projects while maintaining schedule, budget, and quality expectations
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Commercial electrical experience is required; residential-only backgrounds will not be considered

Benefits

  • $125,000-$140,000 base salary
  • Bonus potential
  • Health insurance and benefits package
  • Retirement plan options
  • Paid time off
  • Stable pipeline of large and complex commercial electrical projects
  • Dedicated support from estimating, BIM/VDC, prefabrication, and field leadership teams

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced electrical Project Manager who wants ownership of major projects, strong internal resources, and the ability to directly influence project execution and profitability.
