We are seeking experienced Medicaid leaders for current and anticipated opportunities. We welcome candidates interested in full-time employment, project-based work, or either arrangement.

About the Role

The Medicaid Program Director will provide leadership for Medicaid programs, initiatives, or client engagements. Depending on the opportunity, responsibilities may focus on program operations, policy implementation, managed care, quality improvement, eligibility and enrollment, or organizational performance.

We welcome professionals with experience in state Medicaid agencies, health plans, healthcare organizations, government contractors, and related organizations. Applicants do not need to have held a director title if they bring comparable leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Medicaid programs, initiatives, or improvement projects.
  • Develop program plans, establish priorities, and oversee execution.
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams, partners, and subject matter experts.
  • Guide policy implementation and operational improvements.
  • Monitor program performance, budgets, risks, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with agency leaders, providers, health plans, and other stakeholders.
  • Translate program requirements and analytical findings into practical recommendations.
  • Develop reports, presentations, and implementation plans.
  • Support opportunity assessment and proposal development when relevant.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience supporting U.S. Medicaid programs.
  • Experience leading teams, programs, or complex initiatives.
  • Knowledge of one or more Medicaid areas, such as managed care, eligibility, benefits, provider operations, quality, policy, or long-term services and supports.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to turn program objectives into measurable actions.

Preferred Experience

  • Leadership within a state Medicaid agency or Medicaid managed care organization.
  • Program implementation, transformation, or operational improvement.
  • Oversight of government contracts, vendors, or interagency initiatives.
  • Experience presenting recommendations to senior executives or public-sector leaders.

Benefits

We are recruiting for current and anticipated opportunities; immediate placement is not guaranteed. Responsibilities, compensation, employment arrangement, and start date will be discussed based on the specific opportunity and your experience.

How to Apply

Submit your résumé or professional profile highlighting your Medicaid experience, leadership responsibilities, and areas of expertise. Please indicate whether you prefer full-time employment, project-based engagements, or either.
