The role

ALS are seeking an Accountant to join the ANZ Finance team on a fixed-term basis through to the end of 2027. Reporting to the Senior Finance Accountant ANZ, you will support accurate and timely financial reporting across ALS’s ANZ legal entities. This is a hands-on role with exposure to month-end close, reconciliations, reporting, audit support and process improvement.

The day to day

• Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments and provisions.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations in line with the reconciliation calendar.
• Investigate and resolve aged reconciling items.
• Maintain the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals and depreciation.
• Support AP/AR Shared Services with coding, GL mapping and query resolution.
• Assist with month-end reporting packs and variance commentary.
• Perform general ledger integrity checks and reporting reconciliations.
• Prepare audit evidence, workpapers and responses to auditor queries.
• Work with stakeholders across ANZ operational sites and finance teams.
• Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives.

The essentials

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance.
• Part-qualified CA/CPA, or actively working towards qualification.
• One to three years’ experience in an accounting or finance role.
• Experience in a multi-entity or shared-services environment is desirable.
• Strong Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tables.
• Power Query knowledge is advantageous.
• High attention to detail and strong reconciliation discipline.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities during month-end close.
• A proactive, continuous-improvement mindset.
