Help shape the employee experience and future of Altera India
Altera is looking for a strategic, practical, and trusted HR leader to serve as Senior HR Business Partner - India Leader. This is a high-impact country HR role supporting Altera’s India operations across Bangaloreand Hyderabad.You will partner closely with India business leaders, global and regional HR colleagues, and specialist COE teams to help Altera attract, develop, engage, and retainexceptional talent. Serve as a strategic partner to India leaders
Advise business leaders on workforce planning, organization design, talent priorities, performance, employee experience, leadership effectiveness, and organizational change.
Bring sound judgment, commercial awareness, and a pragmatic India perspective to complex people decisions.
Anticipate workforce needs and translate business strategy into clear, actionable peoplepriorities.
Build talent and organizational effectiveness
Lead or support talent reviews, succession planning, retention strategies, career development, engagement, performance management, and manager capability programs.
Use workforce insights and peopleanalytics to identifytrends, focus attention, and measure progress.
Help leaders create an environment where employees can do their best work, grow their careers, and feel connected to Altera’s mission.
Strengthen manager confidence and capability in handling day-to-day people matters effectively and consistently.
Connect India to the global HR community
Represent India in regional and global HR forums, bringing local insight into enterprise discussions.
Translate global people programs into practical, effective implementation plans for India.
Clearly communicate India-specific requirements, implications, and opportunities to global and regional stakeholders.
Help balance enterprise consistency with the local context needed to make programs successful.
Providetrusted guidance on India HR, compliance, and employee relations
Apply strong knowledge of Indian employment practices, including applicable central and state requirements, LabourCodes, POSH, employee documentation, social security, leave, maternity, contractor matters, investigations, grievances, disciplinary processes, and exits.
Partner with Legal, Compliance, HR Services, Payroll, Benefits, and business leaders to identifyand manage risk early.
Handle sensitive and complex employee-relationsmatters with discretion, empathy, consistency, and sound judgment.
Help ensure policies and practices are clear, compliant, and workable for employees and managers.
Partner with HR Centers of Excellence
Work closely with Benefits, Payroll, Compensation, HR Services, People Systems, and other COEs on India priorities.
Support India benefitsstrategy, plan implementation, enrollment, vendor coordination, employee communications, local requirements, and complex case resolution.
Improve the end-to-end employee experience by connecting policy, process, systems, and service delivery.
Qualifications:
What you’llbring
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
Typically10+ years of progressive HR experience, including substantial HR Business Partner experience in India.
Experience advising senior leaders in a multinational, technology, engineering, or similarly complex organization.
Demonstrated experience with Indian employee relations, workplace compliance, investigations, performance management, workforce changes, and HR policy implementation.
Experience partnering with Benefits, Payroll, Compensation, Legal, Compliance, HR Services, and People Systems teams.
Strong English communication skills, with the ability to influence across levels, functions, cultures, and geographies.
Excellent judgment, discretion, problem-solving ability, and comfort operatingin sensitive or ambiguous situations.
Experience with Workday or another enterprise HRIS is preferred.
An MBA, MHRM, PGDM in Human Resources, or comparable qualification is preferred.
SHRM, CIPD, or equivalent HR certification is desirable, but not requiredin place of strong India HR experience.

Working model
Location: Bangaloreor Hyderabad, with quarterly time expected at both locations.
Reporting to: Senior Director, HR Business Partnering and Learning & Development.
Work arrangement: Onsite four days per week.
Travel: Quarterly travel between Altera India sites, with international travel once or twice per year.
