As a Pastry Cook, you will play a key role in maintaining the superior production of breads, pastries, cakes, ice creams, sorbets, and other delectable treats for our dining room, special events, amenities, and banquets. Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality breads, pastries, and all prepared items from the pastry area.
- Ensure timely production of all items to meet demand.
- Accurately execute recipes and scale ingredients for consistency and quality.
- Monitor ingredient stock levels to ensure all items are available for production.
- Maintain a pastry production sheet and follow through with assigned prep items.
- Perform daily inspections of dry storage, walk-in refrigerators, and freezers for cleanliness and proper storage.
- Manage food costs by scaling ingredients, minimizing waste, and preventing theft.
- Adhere to sanitation, hygiene, and safety standards at all times.
- Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
- Culinary degree or at least 2 years of experience in a pastry position.
- Experience in a luxury resort environment is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and stay highly organized.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Food Safety certification required.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Sensitivity to cultural nuances and diversity.
- Multi-lingual skills are a plus.
