Amazon is an American technology and retail conglomerate founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994 as an online bookstore and headquartered in Seattle, Washington. It operates the world's largest online marketplace together with a global logistics network, physical grocery stores and a third-party seller platform that accounts for most units sold. Amazon Web Services, launched in 2006, is the leading public cloud provider and generates the majority of the group's operating profit, while advertising, Prime Video, Alexa devices and Kuiper satellite broadband round out the business.

This position is part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). Specialists own the go to market strategy for their respective technology domains, providing the business and technical expertise to help our customers succeed. Partner teams own the strategy, recruiting, development, and growth of our key technology and consulting partners. Together they provide our customers with the expertise and scale needed to build innovative solutions for their most complex challenges.

AWS is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join the AWS Partner Core Enablement Shared Services (ESS) team. This is a technical role where you will develop and maintain production applications that serve internal AWS teams and external partners at scale. The team builds web applications, AI powered automation tools, analytics mechanisms, and internal services that help the partner organization operate more efficiently and at greater scale.

You will own the implementation and delivery of features across web applications and services, working within a defined scope alongside cross functional partners. You will contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle from coding through testing and production deployment. The ideal candidate has strong computer science fundamentals, writes clean production quality code, learns quickly, and is eager to work with AI services and cloud native architectures.

Key job responsibilities

- Implement and deliver features for production web applications and internal services, contributing to frontend, backend, and data layers

- Build tools and automation using AWS AI services (Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Q) to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency

- Implement data pipelines from multiple sources, contribute to data model design, and develop standardized metrics and calculations for business reporting

- Build analytics and reporting solutions using SQL and business intelligence tools that consolidate data from internal platforms into dashboards for stakeholders

- Develop APIs and integrations that connect internal systems and expose data to other teams and tools across the organization

- Contribute to internal workflow systems that manage approvals, notifications, scheduling, and self service operations for partner facing teams

- Participate in production operations including deployments, security reviews, access management, and service health monitoring

- Write well structured, testable code with appropriate documentation, participate in code reviews, and follow team engineering standards
