AMD

AMD is an American semiconductor company founded in 1969 and headquartered in Santa Clara, California, that designs processors, graphics chips and adaptive computing hardware without owning fabrication plants. Its Ryzen and Threadripper processors and Radeon graphics serve consumers and creators, EPYC server chips have taken a large share of the data centre market from Intel, and the Instinct accelerators compete for AI training and inference workloads. The 2022 acquisition of Xilinx added field-programmable gate arrays and adaptive systems on chip, and the company also supplies the custom silicon inside the PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

This position requires a self-driven leader who can influence decisions across organizational boundaries and drive product success without direct authority.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Ownership & Program Leadership

  • Serve as the Product Owner for assigned Datacenter Server SoC and AI Accelerator programs.
  • Drive end-to-end product execution from silicon bring-up through qualification, production readiness, launch, and sustaining support.
  • Own overall product readiness and execution strategy, ensuring alignment across engineering, manufacturing, operations, and business stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary focal point for product status, readiness reviews, execution health, and critical program decisions.
  • Lead global cross-functional teams to deliver product milestones and business commitments.

Product Definition & Technical Leadership

  • Own final product definition, including SKU strategy, fuse configuration, performance targets, and power optimization objectives.
  • Drive post-silicon product characterization and readiness analysis across power, performance, leakage, yield, and manufacturability metrics.
  • Lead resolution of product-limiting technical issues that impact readiness, customer commitments, quality, or schedule.
  • Evaluate complex trade-offs involving performance, power, quality, manufacturing, and business objectives.
  • Provide clear technical recommendations and data-driven decisions to engineering leadership and executive stakeholders.

Program Planning & Execution

  • Develop and maintain product execution plans, readiness criteria, dependency tracking, and milestone assessments.
  • Drive accountability across multiple organizations to achieve committed program deliverables.
  • Coordinate cross-functional dependencies and remove execution blockers to ensure predictable product delivery.
  • Adapt execution strategies to changing product requirements, silicon learning, roadmap updates, and business priorities.
  • Ensure program objectives remain aligned despite shifts in product schedules and organizational priorities.

Risk Management & Decision Making

  • Proactively identify technical, execution, manufacturing, schedule, and product-readiness risks.
  • Drive timely escalation and effective mitigation plans for critical product issues.
  • Apply strong technical and business judgment when making decisions under uncertainty.
  • Lead execution and readiness reviews with clear risk assessments, recovery strategies, and recommendations.
  • Ensure rapid resolution of critical product blockers through effective stakeholder alignment.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Influence decisions and drive execution across organizational boundaries without direct authority.
  • Partner with architecture, design, firmware, validation, manufacturing, operations, supply chain, and customer-facing organizations.
  • Build alignment across global teams to accelerate decision-making and execution.
  • Communicate product health, risks, recovery plans, and readiness status to executive leadership.

Organizational Impact

  • Improve product development methodologies, execution frameworks, and readiness management processes.
  • Drive scalable operating models that improve product predictability and execution efficiency.
  • Mentor engineers and emerging technical leaders in product ownership, execution excellence, and risk management.
  • Contribute to AMD's long-term technology and product leadership strategy.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Extensive experience in Server SoC, CPU, GPU, AI Accelerator, or high-performance silicon product development.
  • Strong understanding of product definition, characterization, validation, manufacturing readiness, and productization processes.
  • Proven track record leading complex cross-functional programs from development through product launch.
  • Experience owning product execution, readiness planning, and executive-level program reviews.
  • Strong knowledge of power management, performance analysis, silicon characterization, and platform validation.
