SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT TEST ENGINEERLEAD AI Platform, PCIE, Optical
THE ROLE:
AMDis looking for aninfluential software engineer who ispassionate about improving the performance of keyapplications and benchmarks. You will be a member of a core team of incredibly talentedindustry specialists and will work with the very latest hardware and software technology.
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate should bepassionate about software engineering and possess leadership skillstodrive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with AMD’s architecture specialists to improve future products
- Apply a data minded approach to target optimization efforts
- Stay informed of software and hardware trends and innovations, especially pertaining to algorithms and architecture
- Design and develop new groundbreaking AMDtechnologies
- Participating in new ASICand hardware bring ups
- Debugging/fixexisting issuesand research alternative, more efficient ways to accomplish the same work
- Develop technical relationships with peers andpartners
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Lead and execute optical transceiver validation activities, including functionality, interoperability, performance, reliability, and compliance testing across multiple platform configurations.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of PCIe architecture, link training, device discovery, and PCIe enumeration mechanisms for system-level validation and debugging.
- Experience with PCIe virtualization technologies, including SR-IOV (Single Root I/O Virtualization), is highly desirable.
- Drive platform bring-up, validation, and issue resolution by working closely with hardware, firmware, and software development teams.
- Ability to technically lead a small validation/platform team, define priorities and mentor engineers.
- Proven experience collaborating effectively with remote and geographically distributed teams across multiple time zones, ensuring timely communication and delivery of project milestones.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex system-level issues spanning hardware, firmware, and software components.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor’s or Master'sdegree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
