Amentum Nuclear Projects business supports federal agencies, national laboratories, government-owned contractor-operated facilities, commercial nuclear organizations, and emerging energy technology developers. We routinely collaborate with specialists in process engineering, nuclear engineering, mechanical systems, electrical power systems, instrumentation and controls, civil and structural design, construction management, project controls, safety analysis, commissioning, and operations.

Engineers can support ongoing operations, infrastructure modernization, facility upgrades, mission-critical systems, environmental programs, the NNSA weapons program, and new capital asset projects at some of the nation's most important nuclear and national security facilities.
We’re looking for an experienced and collaborative engineer who thrives when people are in sync and projects are running not just on time but within budget. Based in Oak Ridge, TN, you’ll be working on large and complex projects for clients from the commercial industries as well as federal agencies including the Department of Energy.
As the Systems Engineer you will design, coordinate engineering for assigned design projects to ensure client goals or objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters within nuclear operations and engineering. The work will be performed in Oak Ridge, TN with potentially some travel. Join us and love what you do. Qualifications - External
- This position requires a minimum of 8 years of design experience with increasing responsibility
- Must have strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and within the client organization.
- BS degree in an engineering field
- Experience in multi-discipline design projects
- USA Citizenship is required. No Dual citizens or visas for this role
Preferred Qualifications
- Ideal candidate would have 12-16 years of experience
- PE license with ability to obtain a PE in Tennessee
- Demonstrated experience in successful cost, schedule and contract management of engineering design projects
- Q clearance or eligibility to obtain a “Q”
- NQA-1 experience
- Previous experience working with teaming subcontractors to produce a consolidate design
- Previous DOE Nuclear project experience
- Current or former US security clearance
- Master’s in engineering preferred
- A person residing a commutable distance from our Oak Ridge, TN office

Attendance:
On-Site Security training is mandatory before performing project duties.
Timely response to resolve issues is expected.
Travel required - As needed

Valid driver's license is required. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.

Compensation Details:
$100,000 - $140,000The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued.
