POSITION TITLE: Staff Accountant
REPORTS TO: Accounting Manager

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to play a key role in supporting our core accounting operations. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining general ledger accuracy, streamlining account reconciliations, executing monthly journal entries, and contributing to special financial initiatives.

What You’ll Do:
Financial Operations & General Ledger
- Month-End Close: Actively participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Journal Entries: Prepare, analyze, and post both routine recurring and complex non-recurring journal entries.
- Balance Sheet Integrity: Conduct monthly general ledger account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies proactively.
- Transaction Analysis: Review financial transactions and account balances to verify proper revenue and expense recognition in accordance with GAAP.
Compliance, Audit & Reporting
- Audit Support: Prepare comprehensive schedules and supporting documentation for annual external audits and periodic financial reviews.
- Internal Controls: Assist in maintaining and documenting compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal control standards.
- Internal Reporting: Support the delivery of key management reports, performance metrics, and financial analysis.
Process Improvement & Special Projects
- Collaborate on cross-functional accounting projects and software automation initiatives to optimize workflow efficiency.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and complete special assignments as requested by leadership.
What You Bring:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree: Accounting or Finance required.
- Experience: 1-3 years of hands-on experience in corporate accounting or public accounting.
- Certification: CPA (or actively pursuing CPA track) preferred.
Technical Skills
- ERP & Financial Systems: Hands-on experience with Lawson, Oracle, or comparable Enterprise ERP systems preferred.
- Close Management Tools: Prior experience with Cadency (or similar reconciliation and journal entry software) preferred.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and Google Workspace.
