Compliance Associate Director (CDMX)

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will:

  • Providing strategic, business savvy and risk-based Compliance advice on key business initiatives (e.g. key products launches, biosimilars, GenMed, Oncology, value and access, scientific exchange, medical, collaborations, etc.)
  • Understanding and supporting all innovative projects from a compliance perspective (e.g. Patient centricity, Value-Based Healthcare, Accelerating Customer Engagement, Multichannel, Innovation, etc.)
  • Advocate for Compliance within the leadership and staff across all functions.
  • Implementing and administering Amgen’s Corporate compliance programs & policies and applicable compliance standards & procedures.
  • Reviewing risk assessment, investigation, monitoring and audit outcomes that apply to the markets and implement measures to reduce them over time.
  • Being the contact point for healthcare compliance and privacy advice in the country and by supporting the Compliance Leads in the region.
  • Interacting with and successfully influencing all levels of staff in the country and where appropriate the sub-region, to accomplish compliance initiatives and goals.
  • Discharging duties as a Data Protection Officer for the country.
  • Cooperating with Compliance and the business on audit corrective action implementation and monitoring related improvement action implementation for country and sub region.
  • Identifying the need for specific compliance-controlled documents, procedures and tools; lead/support their development and implementation in country and sub region.
  • Manage a large team of geographically dispersed Compliance Leads (countries management team members and their direct reports)
  • Develop the Sub Regions teams via best practice sharing, leadership development initiatives and coaching, career planning, projects, and foster collaboration / improvement activities.
  • Animate sub-regional team meetings and regular 1:1 with team members.
  • Act as a center of excellence for the markets, driving more consistency across countries and implementing a sound risk-management approach.
  • Support the implementation of Corporate & EU Compliance Programs in the country and sub-region.
  • Sit on the Management Team and play a strategic role both from a compliance and business perspective
  • Sit on EU & TMEA Regional Compliance Leadership team.
  • Provide expert advice and support to all the country’s Business and Functional Leads and represent compliance on key business and cross-functional forums.
  • Ensure an efficient and effective compliance program is in place on all operational dimensions (7+ elements)
  • Provide leadership, advice, guidance, direction and support the business on interpretation and implementation of laws/codes and regional codes (e.g. EFPIA) and Amgen healthcare compliance policies and procedures.
  • Attend in-country medical and brand reviews to provide strategic input on related compliance matters.
  • Maintain awareness of applicable laws and regulations in the Region and keep current with changes that may affect Amgen’s compliance program.
  • Deliver regular compliance education and ethical leadership training sessions.
  • Conduct and support local Healthcare Compliance monitoring activities and follow up on improvement actions (if applicable).
  • Participate in and support the Compliance audit preparation: set up meetings with each department, prepare documentation requests and follow up on audit outcomes (if applicable).
  • Validation of Russia audit corrective actions in conjunction with Corporate Audit.
  • Participate in Healthcare Compliance expert review of controlled documents, templates, training and initiatives as requested.
  • Support the implementation of Compliance training & communications strategies that will maximize awareness, trust and compliance with Amgen’s business practices, policies and procedures.

Basic Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Law, Science, Business, or a related field, with 5 years of experience within the pharmaceutical / biotechnology industry, including responsibility for compliance, as well as deep expertise in healthcare regulations, and the design, implementation, and oversight of compliance programs Or
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Science, Business, or a related field, with 7 years of experience within the pharmaceutical / biotechnology industry, including responsibility for compliance, as well as deep expertise in healthcare regulations, and the design, implementation, and oversight of compliance programs.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is highly desirable and considered a strong asset in supporting global and cross-functional collaboration.
