Ampersand Therapy is hiring Special Education Teachers for current and upcoming opportunities throughout Washington State for the 2026-2027 school year. This is an evergreen posting designed to connect with talented Special Education Teachers for a variety of school-based openings. Positions may be available at the preschool, elementary, middle, or high school level and may include resource, self-contained, inclusion, life skills, behavioral support, transition, and other specialized programs.
Position Highlights

- Grade Levels: Preschool through High School (varies by assignment)
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Deliver differentiated instruction aligned with student goals and state standards
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional collaboration
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies, accommodations, and assistive technology as appropriate
- Support students' academic, behavioral, social, and functional development
Qualifications
- Valid Washington State Special Education teaching certificate (or eligibility to obtain one)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- School-based experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply
