Why join Ampol Petroleum Distribution?
At Ampol Petroleum Distribution, you're more than just a driver. You'll be joining a well-established team of experienced operators who are passionate about the industry, dedicated to their customers, and committed to supporting each other every day.
This position offers:
- Variety and independence every day
- A supportive and down-to-earth team culture
- Industry-leading safety systems and training
- Long-term career opportunities with one of Australia's most recognised brands
- The opportunity to operate both double combination and rigid tanker vehicles
- Meaningful work supporting essential industries across the Wide Bay and Central Queensland regions
About the role
We're looking for an experienced and safety-focused MC Driver to join our Bundaberg team. This role offers the opportunity to operate both our larger double combination tanker fleet and our smaller rigid tanker, delivering fuel directly to farms and customer sites throughout the region.
No two days are the same. One day you may be completing bulk fuel deliveries in a double combination vehicle, and the next you'll be providing onsite refuelling services to agricultural customers across the Wide Bay region. If you enjoy variety, independence, and building strong customer relationships, this could be the role for you.
What you’ll be doing
Based out of our Bundaberg Depot, you'll work on a rotating roster operating double combination fuel tankers and rigid tanker vehicles.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Safe operation of double combination tanker vehicles delivering bulk fuel products
- Operating a rigid tanker to provide onsite refuelling services to farms and customer sites
- Building strong relationships with customers and providing exceptional service
- Completing all deliveries safely, efficiently, and in line with company procedures
- Maintaining accurate delivery documentation and compliance requirements
- Working closely with schedulers, depot personnel, and fellow drivers to support operational requirements
This is a hands-on role that combines the independence of working on the road with the support of a highly experienced local team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Holds a current MC licence
- Can drive both manual and automatic trucks
- Has a strong commitment to safety and compliance
- Enjoys providing outstanding customer service
- Has experience operating heavy vehicles
- Can work independently while remaining a strong team player
- Takes pride in their equipment, work quality, and professional presentation
- Has a positive attitude and willingness to learn
Experience within the fuel industry is welcomed but not essential. If you have the right attitude, driving experience, and safety mindset, we can provide the training and support required to succeed in this specialised role.

- Career development and learning opportunities including tailored driver training, LinkedIn Learning and other training solutions.
- Invest in your future with the Employee Share Scheme
