Staff AnalogDesign Engineer, Automotive Networking- Hyderabad, India

About the Role

The Automotive Networking Business Unit at Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) is seeking an experienced Staff AnalogDesign Engineer to join its Hyderabad design team. In this P4 technical leadership role, you will architect and deliver high-performance analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for wired automotive connectivity, including Ethernet and related technologies. You will work across functions such as data converters, line drivers and receivers, clock generation, references, power distribution, signal conditioning, and input/output circuits.

You will have significant latitude to solve complex design problems, lead product, system, and block-level architectural decisions, and guide designs from requirements through tape-out, silicon validation, qualification, and production release. You will collaborate with global, cross-functional teams and mentor other engineers while helping to grow ADI’s analog and mixed-signal design capability in Hyderabad.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical leadership: Lead the definition and optimisation of complex analog and mixed-signal IC architectures, specifications, and implementation plans.
• Circuit ownership: Design and deliver transistor-level circuits such as amplifiers, data converters, line drivers and receivers, references, clocking circuits, power-management functions, and analog interfaces.
• Design and simulation: Develop circuit schematic and perform PVT, Monte Carlo, noise, stability, transient, and post-layout analyses; resolve complex performance, reliability, and integration issues.
• Layout direction: Collaborate with layout engineers on floorplanning, matching, parasitics, isolation, signal integrity, electromigration, and other critical physical-design considerations.
• Product execution: Drive designs to tape-out readiness and support silicon bring-up, laboratory characterisation, debug, production test, qualification, yield improvement, and release to volume production.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Work with product definition, systems, digital design, design verification, layout, process, test, applications, quality, and manufacturing teams to meet product and business objectives.
• Engineering trade-offs: Lead technical decisions across performance, power, area, cost, schedule, reliability, electromagnetic compatibility, and manufacturability.
• Mentoring and reviews: Provide technical guidance, conduct rigorous design reviews, share best practices, and support the development of less experienced engineers.
• Innovation and customer impact: Contribute new circuit and system concepts, support technical customer engagements, and help shape future automotive networking products.

RequiredQualificationsand Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Typically 7+ years of relevant experience in analog or mixed-signal integrated-circuit design.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and end-to-end ownership of complex IC designs from specification and architecture through tape-out and silicon validation.
• Expert knowledge of transistor-level analog design, CMOS device behaviour, feedback, noise, matching, variability, reliability, and circuit trade-offs.
• Strong design experience in several relevant circuit areas, such as amplifiers, ADCs/DACs, line interfaces, references, regulators, clock-generation circuits, filters, or power-distribution functions.
• Advanced proficiency with industry-standard IC design and simulation tools, including Cadence Virtuoso and Spectre or equivalent.
• Deep understanding of analog layout techniques and the ability to direct and review layout for optimum performance, robustness, and manufacturability.
• Experience with successful IC tape-outs, silicon bring-up, laboratory measurement, debug, and correlation of measured results with simulation.
• Excellent problem-solving, technical communication, documentation, collaboration, and mentoring skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with automotive Ethernet physical-layer circuits, wired automotive transceivers, or closely related high-speed communication architectures.
• Experience applying automotive functional-safety, qualification, reliability, electromagnetic-compatibility, or electrostatic-discharge requirements to IC development.
• Experience with behavioural modelling, mixed-signal verification, digitally assisted analog techniques, or system-level performance budgeting.
• Evidence of technical innovation through patents, publications, reusable design methodologies, or differentiated silicon solutions.
