POSITION SUMMARY

Leads a multi-shift maintenance organization supporting high-volume manufacturing. Accountable for safe and reliable equipment performance, workforce capability, preventive and corrective maintenance, rapid recovery from production interruptions, and effective coordination with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Facilities, EHS, Supply Chain, and external service providers. Uses data and visible floor leadership to improve availability, response time, PM execution, quality, cost, and output while balancing immediate production needs with long-term reliability.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and develop the team: Set clear expectations for safety, quality, responsiveness, workmanship, documentation, and conduct; coach performance, recognize results, address gaps, recruitand onboard talent, and maintaintechnical training, qualification, cross-training, and succession plans.

  • Plan labor and coverage: Align staffing and skills across shifts, production areas, shutdowns, weekend work, projects, training, vacations, absences, and unplanned events; monitor overtime, fatigue, attendance, workload, and labor effectiveness.

  • Direct maintenance execution: Prioritize work by safety, product risk, equipment criticality, and production need; lead troubleshooting, repair, recovery, escalation, shift handoffs, and after-hours response; ensure safe, stable, and documented return to service.

  • Improve equipment reliability: Optimizepreventive, predictive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance; analyze equipment and work-order data; lead root-cause analysis and corrective action; reduce repeat failures and standardize successful practices.

  • Own safety, quality, and compliance: Enforce approved procedures, energy control, PPE, permits, and equipment-specific requirements; lead job-risk reviews; stop unsafe work; ensure incidents, near misses, quality events, and audit actions are contained, escalated, documented, and closed.

  • Manage systems, cost, and resources: MaintainCMMS and work-order discipline; manage budget, overtime, contractors, tools, repair cost, and assigned spending; coordinate critical spares, obsolescence, service agreements, vendors, and investment requests.

  • Collaborate and communicate: Partner across functions to resolve priorities, facilitatedaily reviews, clarify ownership, and provide concise updates on equipment status, risk, production impact, recovery timing, escalation needs, and next steps.

SUCCESS MEASURES

Safety performance and corrective-action effectiveness; equipment availability and uptime; MTTR, MTBF, and repeat failures; PM compliance, schedule attainment, planned work, and backlog health; equipment-related quality, yield, and scrap; startup and shutdown execution; staffing coverage, productivity, overtime, training, qualification depth, retention, and development; maintenance cost, inventory effectiveness, vendor performance, and delivered reliability improvements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field; equivalent technical education, apprenticeship, and progressive experience may be considered.

  • Seven or more years in equipment maintenance, field service, manufacturing engineering, or industrial operations, including at least three years of direct leadership in a high-volume, continuous, automated, or regulated manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated success leading multi-shift maintenance teams and coordinating with Productionand Engineering.

  • Working knowledge of equipment troubleshooting; preventive and predictive maintenance; root-cause analysis; work planning; reliability metrics; CMMS and maintenance records; budget, contractor, and spare-partsmanagement.

  • Strong risk-based decision-making, coaching, conflict resolution, communication, presentation, data-analysis, and stakeholder-management skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in semiconductor or another equipment-intensive, regulated industry; knowledge of automated equipment, robotics, controls, mechanical, vacuum, pneumatic, thermal, chemical, gas, or facilities systems; formal training or certification in maintenance and reliability, Lean/Six Sigma, root-cause analysis, project management, or occupational safety; experience with installations, qualifications, overhauls, capital projects, service contracts, and obsolescence.

LEADERSHIP AND WORK EXPECTATIONS

Modelssafety, integrity, accountability, technical judgment, operational discipline, people development, collaboration, continuous improvement, and concise communication. Authorized to assign and reprioritize maintenance resources, stop unsafe or noncompliant work, and escalate technical or production risk. Works regularly on the production floor in an industrial or cleanroom environment and supports a 24/7 operation, including occasional nights, weekends, holidays, on-call coverage, extended hours, and limited travel.

  • This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors

  • This position includes medical, vision and dental coverage, 401k, paid vacation, holidays, and sick time, and other benefits.

  • Benefits for the position includes 10 paid holidays per year, paid vacation starting at 136 hours per year for full-time employees (prorated for part-time employees), and paid sick time that exceeds the requirements of the Washington State Sick Leave law.
