Azure IaC Engineer, Junior

Description of Task to be Performed:

AnaVation is seeking a junior-level Azure Engineer (US Citizenship required). This a newly-awarded contract, so the selected candidate must be a self-starter who is eager to quickly integrate with a high-performing team responsible for accrediting and implementing a new digital evidence platform for our Federal Government client. This is a full-time position that can be performed remotely with occasional travel to Washington DC as needed.

What you will be doing

• Assist in building and maintaining Azure cloud infrastructure using IaC tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of automated deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Support cloud governance, security configurations, and operational best practices.
• Help troubleshoot and resolve basic cloud infrastructure issues across Azure networking, compute, identity, storage, and container services.
• Participate in team design sessions and contribute to solution architecture discussions.
• Maintain documentation for infrastructure components, deployment processes, and operational procedures.
• Learn and apply Azure platform updates, IaC best practices, and automation standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and assist with implementing cloud solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology
• Hands-on experience with cloud technologies; personal projects with Azure may be acceptable.
• Clearance:
• Public Trust; US Citizenship is required
• Other Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Basic understanding of Azure services such as VMs, Storage, Networking, RBAC, and Azure AD.
• Familiarity with IaC tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM) or strong interest in learning them.
• Exposure to version control tools such as Git.
• Foundational scripting knowledge in PowerShell or Python.
• Strong desire to learn cloud engineering, automation, and DevOps practices.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to follow technical guidance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Azure certifications (AZ-900, AZ-104) or progress toward them.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, AKS) is a plus.
• Coursework, labs, or personal projects involving cloud infrastructure or automation
