We are looking for a hands-on Power BI Architect to lead our analytics migration to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with Power BI as the reporting platform and LookML for governed business semantics.

The ideal candidate must have strong Power BI engineering expertise, along with practical BigQuery and LookML development experience. This is a hands-on technical role, not limited to dashboard development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and optimize Power BI solutions, including advanced DAX, Power Query M, semantic models, and star schemas.
• Lead end-to-end Power BI migration to GCP, including assessment, refactoring, data validation, cutover, and stabilization.
• Develop and optimize BigQuery SQL, LookML models, views, Explores, dimensions, and measures.
• Troubleshoot performance issues across Power BI, BigQuery, and LookML.
• Manage Power BI Service, refresh schedules, gateways, workspaces, security, and governance.
• Implement Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring, and deployment best practices.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams on data integration, migration, and production support.

Mandatory Skills

• Advanced Power BI, including DAX, Power Query M, Power BI Desktop, and Power BI Service.
• Hands-on BigQuery SQL development and LookML engineering.
• Strong SQL, data modeling, semantic modeling, and performance optimization skills.
• Experience with GCP migration or a major source-platform migration.
• Practical experience with Python automation, Git, and CI/CD.
• Proven experience managing production refreshes, gateways, security, and workspace governance.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Dataflow, Datastream, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Composer/Airflow, Dataform, or dbt.
• Integration experience with SQL Server, Oracle, SAP, Snowflake, Databricks, or REST APIs.
• Power BI capacity planning, XMLA/REST API automation, and paginated reports.

Experience Requirements

• 10+ years in BI/Data Engineering.
• 5+ years of hands-on Power BI experience.
• 3+ years in architecture or technical leadership, or equivalent delivery experience.

Important: Candidates with only dashboard development experience will not be suitable. Strong, demonstrable hands-on experience in Power BI, BigQuery, and LookML is essential.
