Quality Engineer (Manual Testing Focus)

As a Quality Engineer at AnyTeam, you will own the end-to-end quality assurance process for our web and mobile applications. With 4 to 7 years of experience, you will go beyond simple test execution, analyzing complex requirements, uncovering edge cases, writing detailed test plans, and collaborating closely with product managers and software developers.

Responsibilities:

• Test strategy and planning: Analyze product specifications, functional requirements, and user stories to create comprehensive test plans, test suites, and traceability matrices.
• Manual Execution: Perform thorough functional, regression, integration, usability, exploratory, and cross-browser/cross-device testing.
• Defect Management: Identify, document, prioritize, and track bugs using Jira (or similar tools) with clear steps to reproduce, logs, and screenshots.
• Database and Data Validation: Execute basic to intermediate SQL queries to validate backend data, verify application states, and ensure data integrity.
• API Testing: Perform manual endpoint testing using tools like Postman or Insomnia to validate RESTful APIs, payload responses, and error handling.
• Agile Collaboration: Actively participate in sprint ceremonies (planning, grooming, standups, and retrospectives) and act as a quality gatekeeper before every release cycle.
• Process Improvement: Continuously refine manual testing workflows, optimize regression suites, and mentor junior QA team members.

Requirements:

• Experience: 4 to 7 years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance focusing on manual testing.
• Testing Expertise: Deep understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), and QA methodologies in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• API and Backend Skills: Hands-on experience with API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI) and SQL database queries (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL, etc. ).
• Test Management Tools: Proficiency with tools like Jira, Zephyr, TestRail, or Xray.
• Analytical Mindset: Excellent analytical and critical-thinking skills with a keen eye for detail and usability.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate across engineering and product teams.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Prior experience testing mobile applications (iOS and Android).
• Exposure to web performance tools (e. g., Chrome DevTools network analysis, Lighthouse).
• Basic understanding of test automation concepts or frameworks (even if your primary focus remains manual testing).
