About the Role

As a Senior Manager, Procurement, you'll lead strategic procurement across key categories within either our Australia Retail or Institutional business. This is an opportunity to operate as a trusted commercial partner to senior leaders, driving category strategies, leading complex sourcing initiatives and delivering sustainable value through innovative procurement practices.

You'll take ownership of high-value supplier relationships and end-to-end procurement outcomes, balancing commercial excellence, risk management and governance to support business priorities. At the same time, you'll lead and develop a high-performing team of Category Managers, Sourcing Specialists and Supplier Relationship Managers, creating an environment where people can thrive and deliver their best work.

This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll influence executive stakeholders, support enterprise-wide transformation initiatives and play a critical role in delivering ANZ's productivity and growth objectives.

Two permanent opportunities are available:

  • Senior Manager, Procurement - Australia Retail
  • Senior Manager, Procurement - Institutional

Role Location: Melbourne or Brisbane

Role Type: Permanent, Full-Time

What will your day look like?

As a Senior Manager, Procurement, you will:

  • Develop and execute category strategies informed by market intelligence, supplier insights and business priorities.
  • Lead high-value and complex sourcing activities, including negotiations, contract execution and risk management across the source-to-contract lifecycle.
  • Partner with senior leaders and executive stakeholders to align procurement outcomes with business objectives while ensuring compliance with organisational policies.
  • Manage and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering capability development and high performance.
  • Oversee supplier relationship management activities, driving value creation, innovation and strong supplier performance.
  • Deliver measurable commercial outcomes through cost optimisation, contract negotiations and product and service rationalisation initiatives.
  • Monitor category and supplier performance, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, risk mitigation and enhanced business value.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Extensive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement and vendor management, with a proven track record delivering commercial outcomes in complex organisations.
  • Strong capability in category strategy development, commercial negotiation and contract lifecycle management.
  • Advanced financial, market and supplier analysis skills, with the ability to translate insights into strategic decisions.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with experience partnering effectively with senior executives and C-suite leaders.
  • Demonstrated success leading procurement activities within large-scale transformation or change programs.
  • Experience developing and managing global sourcing strategies, including cross-border supplier relationships and commercial negotiations.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline, with professional procurement certification viewed favourably.

You're not expected to have 100% of these skills. We value a growth mindset, so if you have most of these things in your toolbox, we'd love to hear from you.
