The Role

As our Senior Compliance Manager, you’ll play a key role in strengthening AP+’s compliance management capability and supporting the organisation to effectively navigate an evolving regulatory environment.

You’ll provide trusted and practical compliance advice to support informed business decision-making, lead the development and continuous improvement of compliance frameworks and methodologies, and oversee monitoring and assurance activities. Working closely with business stakeholders and Group Risk, you’ll help identify and manage compliance risks, assess control effectiveness and turn complex regulatory requirements and compliance data into clear, practical insights. As an experienced compliance professional, you will also mentor, coach and support the development of compliance team members.

This Role Is Responsible For:

  • Leading the development, implementation and continuous improvement of enterprise compliance frameworks, methodologies, standards and processes.
  • Providing authoritative advice and practical guidance on complex and emerging regulatory obligations, governance requirements and compliance risks.
  • Leading risk-based compliance monitoring, assurance and review activities to assess control effectiveness and identify emerging or systemic risks.
  • Translating compliance data, monitoring results and assurance outcomes into clear insights and recommendations for senior management and governance forums.
  • Managing the regulatory change pipeline, including identifying, assessing, allocating, tracking and reporting regulatory changes and their business impacts.
  • Partnering with business teams and Group Risk to oversee significant compliance issues, corrective actions and remediation plans.
  • Developing compliance performance measures, risk indicators and reporting to provide greater visibility of compliance performance.
  • Driving continuous improvement through digitisation, process simplification, enhanced data management and business intelligence.
  • Providing technical leadership, coaching and training to compliance practitioners and business stakeholders, while building trusted senior relationships and constructively challenging decisions where appropriate.

In order to be successful in this role you’ll need to demonstrate:

  • Significant experience in compliance, risk, assurance, governance or regulatory advisory, ideally within financial services, payments or another regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing compliance frameworks, methodologies or enterprise compliance improvement initiatives.
  • Strong experience leading compliance monitoring, policy implementation, issue remediation and management reporting.
  • Expert knowledge of compliance frameworks, regulatory obligations, governance principles, assurance and risk and control frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory change management and compliance operating models.
  • Advanced analytical capability, with experience using compliance data, business intelligence and reporting to support executive decision-making.
  • The ability to provide credible, authoritative specialist advice and influence stakeholders across complex compliance matters.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to build trusted senior relationships and constructively challenge when required.
  • A tertiary qualification in law, business, commerce, risk management, governance, compliance or a related discipline. Relevant professional certification or membership is desirable.
