Trainee Nurse

Job Summary

The Trainee Nurse is responsible for providing basic patient care under the supervision of senior nursing staff while gaining practical clinical experience. The role involves assisting in patient care activities, maintaining accurate records, adhering to hospital policies, and developing clinical competencies required for independent nursing practice.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care

• Assist in delivering quality nursing care to patients under supervision.
• Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
• Support patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, mobility, feeding, and comfort measures.
• Observe patient conditions and promptly report abnormalities to the concerned nursing staff.

Clinical Support

• Assist in administering medications and treatments as directed by registered nurses.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of patient care areas.
• Ensure proper handling and maintenance of medical equipment and supplies.

Documentation & Records

• Maintain accurate nursing records and patient-related documentation.
• Update patient information in hospital systems as per established protocols.
• Assist in preparing reports and maintaining ward registers.

Infection Control & Safety

• Follow all infection prevention and control guidelines.
• Adhere to patient safety and quality standards.
• Ensure proper biomedical waste segregation and disposal.
• Comply with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and statutory requirements.

Learning & Development

• Participate actively in orientation programs, in-service education, and clinical training sessions.
• Develop competencies in nursing procedures and patient care standards.
• Seek guidance from senior nurses and educators to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.

Qualification

• B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing / GNM from a recognized institution.
• Freshers are eligible to apply.
• Candidates awaiting Nursing Council Registration may also be considered as per organizational policy.
