Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide disciplinary and functional leadership to the Build-To-Print (BTP) Purchasing organization and support the continuous development of employees and organizational capabilities.

  • Support the selection, development, and performance management of strategic suppliers.

  • Ensure on-time material availability while proactively managing supply chain risks, capacity constraints, and customer and production requirements.

  • Lead and support product development, New Product Introduction (NPI), and industrialization projects from a procurement and supply chain perspective.

  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management to achieve business objectives.

  • Drive cost reduction, process improvement, and digitalization initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and business performance.

  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop and implement the Materials Management strategy while continuously improving key performance indicators, supplier performance, and organizational effectiveness.

  • Lead supplier escalations related to quality, delivery, capacity, and technical performance.

Leadership

  • Functional and disciplinary leadership of a Build-to-Print (BTP) procurement team.

  • Development, coaching, and mentoring of team members, including succession planning.

  • Close collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Global Commodity Management, and Supplier Quality teams.

  • Driving a high-performance culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Education:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.

Experience:

  • 12+ years of procurement experience in a highly technical manufacturing environment.

  • 5+ years of leadership experience within Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Materials Management

  • Experience in the vacuum technology or high-tech equipment manufacturing industry.

Special Qualifications:

  • Extensive technical knowledge of engineering drawings, tolerances, materials, and manufacturing processes.

  • Ideally hands-on experience with Vacuum Technology (HV/UHV) and vacuum components.

  • Ability to engage in technical discussions with suppliers and internal teams as a technical counterpart.

  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Language Skills

  • Fluent English & German skills (written and spoken) required.
  • Ability to negotiate, present, and communicate effectively within international- and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong capability to conduct technical and commercial discussions in English.
  • Experience working in a global and multicultural business environment.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
