Apt Resources is a recruitment agency that sources and screens staff for employers in the United Arab Emirates and in several African countries, headquartered in Dubai. It recruits for clients in hospitality, retail, supermarkets, agriculture and facilities management, placing candidates both within the UAE and with employers in countries such as Angola and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Its listings are client vacancies for bartenders, commis chefs, waiters and restaurant supervisors, luxury fashion sales assistants speaking Russian or Arabic, supermarket stock controllers and auditors, farm and dairy technicians, facilities managers and HR managers.

Apt Resources is looking for an experienced Automotive Workshop Operations Manager to keep the workshop running smoothly and efficiently. From leading the technical team and coordinating repair jobs to ensuring quality workmanship and timely vehicle delivery, you'll play a key role in the workshop's day-to-day success.

We're looking for someone who understands the technical side of automotive operations, knows how to bring out the best in a team, and can keep things organized even when the workshop gets busy.

Key Responsibilities

    • Keep daily workshop operations running smoothly, from vehicle inspections and diagnostics to repairs and maintenance.
    • Lead technicians and mechanics, assign jobs, and make sure everyone knows their priorities.
    • Plan repair schedules and balance workloads to meet deadlines and delivery commitments.
    • Help the team troubleshoot challenging mechanical and electrical issues when needed.
    • Check work progress and ensure repairs meet quality standards before vehicles are handed back to customers.
    • Spot delays and workflow issues early, then find practical ways to resolve them.
    • Keep customers and internal teams updated on repair progress, findings, costs, and expected completion dates.
    • Review job orders, repair estimates, and parts requirements to keep work properly planned and costs under control.
    • Coordinate with suppliers and parts teams to ensure the workshop has the components and materials it needs.
    • Make sure tools, diagnostic equipment, and workshop machinery are properly maintained and used safely.
    • Keep service records, repair documentation, and job progress reports accurate and up to date.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment in line with workshop procedures.
    • Look for ways to improve turnaround times, team productivity, and overall workshop efficiency.
    • Support and coach team members to strengthen their technical skills and performance.
    • Investigate recurring repair issues and put solutions in place to prevent them from happening again.
    • Monitor workshop performance and share ideas with management on how to improve service quality and resource use.
    • Work closely with management to achieve operational targets and deliver a consistently positive customer

Requirements

      • Previous experience managing or supervising an automotive workshop or service centre.
      • A diploma or degree in Automotive Technology, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
      • Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, mechanical and electrical systems, servicing, and repair procedures.
      • The ability to lead a technical team, manage competing priorities, and keep jobs moving.
      • Good organizational and problem-solving skills, with a practical approach to day-to-day challenges.
      • An understanding of workshop scheduling, spare parts coordination, equipment maintenance, and cost control.
      • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technicians, customers, suppliers, and management.
      • A commitment to quality workmanship, workplace safety, and continuous improvement.
      • Must currently be based in the UAE and available for an in-person interview in Dubai.
