We are currently recruiting for a Stores Controller to join our team at the University of Winchester. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and reliable individual to support a busy catering operation by managing deliveries, stock control, and stores activities while ensuring products are received, stored, and distributed
efficiently.

What you'll be doing
- Receiving and checking deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes
- Safely storing and rotating stock using FIFO principles
- Distributing goods and supplies to catering outlets across site
- Monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages
- Maintaining accurate stock records and delivery documentation
- Ensuring stores areas remain clean, organised, and compliant with health &
safety requirements
- Assisting with stock takes and inventory checks
- Supporting the wider catering team with operational requirements
- Following all company, food safety, and health & safety procedures
About you
- Previous stores, warehouse, stock control, or catering support experience is desirable
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Reliable and professional approach to work
- Able to undertake the manual handling requirements of the role safely, with reasonable adjustments where appropriate.
- Good understanding of stock rotation and storage procedures is advantageous
Important Requirements
- Successful candidates will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check prior to commencing employment.
