Job Overview

Senior Software Engineer (Java)

This position is responsible for developing software applications for Arcserve UDP product family. Provide complex code modification, testing and debugging tasks.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fix bugs, add enhancements. Perform unit/module testing of software to find errors and confirm programs meet specifications.
2. Troubleshoot issues and escalations from field installations and provide patches/assistance to L1 support.
3. Assist quality assurance team by providing assistance and support as needed to determine system problems. Collaborate with quality assurance in creation of their test plans and participate in reviews.
4. Write and maintain documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections.
5. Mentor group of junior engineers if necessary.

Skills and experience

• Strong object-oriented programming experience in Java.
• Working knowledge of data storage concepts and disaster recovery infrastructure/technology.
• Knowledge on Linux/UNIX will be a plus.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as C++ a plus.
• Development experience on virtualization environment like VMWare, HYPER-V, Exchange, O365 will be a plus.
• Knowledge of networking concepts and RPC.
• Has passion for solving complex problems. Working smart and learning quickly.
• Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills with strong sense of quality.

Exposure to the following tools/frameworks/libraries.

1. SpringBoot.
2. Jersey REST Framework.
3. Hibernate ORM.
4. Maven.
5. Quartz Scheduler.
6. jUnit.
7. FreeMarker.
8. Application cache best practice (Redis).
9. Familiarity with NoSQL databases (Redis, MongoDB, DynamoDB).
10. SOAP.
