Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced SAFe Agile Scrum Master with 8+ years of experience in Agile delivery, Scrum, and enterprise-scale transformation. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience facilitating Agile ceremonies, coaching Scrum teams, removing delivery impediments, and enabling effective collaboration across multiple teams within a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environment.
The candidate should be comfortable working with Product Owners, Engineering teams, Business stakeholders, Release Train Engineers (RTEs), and other cross-functional teams to drive predictable and high-quality delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams, ensuring effective adoption of Scrum and SAFe principles.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, PI Planning, and Inspect & Adapt sessions.
- Coach teams on Agile, Scrum, SAFe principles, servant leadership, continuous improvement, and self-organization.
- Identify, track, and proactively remove impediments, dependencies, and delivery risks impacting team productivity.
- Partner with Product Owners and Business stakeholders to ensure effective backlog management, prioritization, and story readiness.
- Support Program Increment (PI) Planning, including preparation, dependency identification, team objectives, and execution tracking.
- Collaborate with Release Train Engineers (RTEs) and other Scrum Masters to manage cross-team dependencies and program-level risks.
- Monitor Agile metrics such as velocity, sprint predictability, throughput, cycle time, burndown/burnup, and PI objectives to identify improvement opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on retrospective outcomes, delivery metrics, and team feedback.
- Facilitate resolution of cross-functional issues and ensure effective communication between engineering, product, QA, architecture, and business teams.
- Support teams in maintaining a healthy Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD).
- Promote transparency around delivery progress, risks, dependencies, and impediments to leadership and stakeholders.
- Help teams adopt DevOps, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), and quality engineering practices within the Agile delivery lifecycle.
- Support organizational Agile transformation initiatives and contribute to improving Agile maturity across teams.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of experience in Agile/Scrum delivery, with strong experience as a Scrum Master.
- Strong hands-on experience with SAFe Agile methodology and enterprise Agile delivery.
- Experience working in SAFe Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and multi-team environments.
- Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, Lean-Agile, and SAFe principles.
- Hands-on experience with PI Planning, Inspect & Adapt, Scrum of Scrums, and ART ceremonies.
- Strong expertise in facilitation, servant leadership, coaching, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management.
- Experience working closely with Product Owners, RTEs, Engineering Managers, Architects, QA teams, and business stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of Agile metrics and delivery reporting.
- Experience managing cross-team dependencies, risks, impediments, and delivery commitments.
- Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and influencing skills.
- Experience with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Rally, or similar platforms.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to operate effectively in complex enterprise environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) certification.
- SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM) certification is a plus.
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent certification.
- Experience supporting Agile transformation or enterprise-scale Agile adoption.
- Experience working with globally distributed and cross-functional teams.
- Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD, cloud-based delivery environments, and software product development.
