Quality Control Officer

A prominent plastics manufacturing company in Lagos is looking to add a meticulous and analytically minded Quality Control Officer to its production team. The successful candidate will take responsibility for making sure that raw materials, in-process items, and completed plastic products consistently satisfy the company's demanding quality benchmarks and industry specifications.

• Inspection and Testing: Carry out scheduled inspections along with physical and mechanical testing of raw plastic materials, pre-forms, and finished goods such as bottles, containers, and pipes, verifying that they comply with established quality standards.
• Production Monitoring: Keep a continuous watch over the production line to detect defects, inconsistencies, or any departures from standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Equipment Calibration: Make sure that all quality testing instruments and measuring tools are correctly calibrated and kept in proper working order.
• Defect Analysis: Trace the underlying causes of product flaws — for instance warping, discoloration, thickness variations, or inadequate tensile strength — and propose corrective measures to the production team.
• Documentation: Keep precise and thorough records covering all quality tests, inspection outcomes, and non-conformance reports.
• Compliance: Confirm that every product satisfies local and international regulatory requirements for plastic manufacturing and safety.
• Collaboration: Partner closely with production supervisors and machine operators to drive quality improvement efforts and cut down on waste.

• Education: A Bachelor's Degree, HND, or OND in Industrial Chemistry, Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Experience: At least 2–3 years of demonstrated experience working as a Quality Control Officer, specifically within a plastics manufacturing environment.
• Technical Knowledge: A strong grasp of plastic processing techniques.
