Civil Engineer

Asdeen Limited is currently looking to hire a qualified Civil Engineer to join its team on a full-time basis. The role is based in Abuja (FCT), Nigeria, and focuses on the inspection, maintenance, and supervision of buildings, structures, and civil infrastructure.

• Carry out routine inspections of buildings, structures, outdoor areas, and civil infrastructure to detect faults and determine maintenance needs.
• Plan, oversee, and coordinate civil maintenance, repair, renovation, and improvement works.
• Keep track of the structural integrity of buildings, walls, ceilings, floors, roofing systems, drainage structures, and related facilities.
• Create maintenance programmes for the civil and structural elements of a building.
• Produce technical assessments, work specifications, material lists, and cost estimates for civil works.
• Supervise contractors, artisans, and technicians engaged in civil construction and maintenance activities.
• Confirm that all civil works comply with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and agreed timelines.
• Inspect construction materials and workmanship to verify adherence to the required standards.
• Oversee repairs to cracks, concrete defects, leaking roofs, damaged walls, flooring, tiling, paving, and other structural or finishing elements.
• Manage the upkeep of drainage systems, walkways, parking areas, external walls, fences, gates, and other outdoor infrastructure.
• Detect possible structural, water-infiltration, drainage, erosion, and other property-related risks, and propose suitable remedies.
• Collaborate with contractors and consultants on renovation, refurbishment, and construction projects.
• Evaluate contractor quotations and technical proposals, and present recommendations to management.
• Track project costs, materials, labour, and progress in order to reduce waste and avoid unnecessary spending.
• Make sure construction and maintenance activities are executed safely and with as little disruption as possible.
• Keep accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, projects, materials, contractors, and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with applicable building standards and regulations.
