Introduction to the Job

As a Senior Project Lead, Production Engineering , you will lead complex projects that improve manufacturing performance across multiple products and production areas. You will help translate technical and operational challenges into sustainable solutions that improve quality, efficiency, cost, and production readiness.

You will also play an important role in introducing new products into the factory. By coordinating engineering, production, program, and support teams, you will help ensure that manufacturing processes are ready for current and future demand.

Role and Responsibilities

The Senior Project Lead, Production Engineering provides cross-functional leadership without relying on direct reporting authority. You will use production data, technical judgment, and structured problem-solving to establish priorities and drive projects through completion.

  • Manage complex production engineering projects across multiple products or manufacturing areas.
  • Monitor performance dashboards, investigate trends, and coordinate root-cause and failure-analysis activities.
  • Prioritize structural production issues and drive timely resolution with engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Manage capital investment requirements and spending while balancing technical needs, budgets, and operational impact.
  • Coordinate new-product industrialization, including factory readiness, build sequencing, qualification, and implementation risks.
  • Present project status, performance metrics, risks, and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.

Education and Experience

To succeed as a Senior Project Lead, Production Engineering, you will need:

  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, optical, chemical, industrial, or mechatronics engineering, physics, or a related technical discipline with eight or more years of relevant experience.
  • Alternatively, a master’s degree in a related technical discipline with five or more years of relevant experience.
  • At least three years of experience leading people, projects, or cross-functional technical initiatives.
  • Experience in production engineering, project management, manufacturing, or new-product industrialization.
  • Experience managing capital budgets and coordinating projects across multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of root-cause analysis, failure analysis, and structured continuous improvement methods.
  • Experience using enterprise resource planning systems and reporting tools such as SAP and Power BI.
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or comparable improvement methodologies.

Skills

Working at the cutting edge of tech, you’ll always have new challenges and new problems to solve - and working together is the only way to do that. You won’t work in a silo. Instead, you’ll be part of a creative, dynamic work environment where you’ll collaborate with supportive colleagues. There is always space for creative and unique points of view.
