ASOS is a major British online fast-fashion and cosmetics retailer targeted primarily at young adult consumers. Founded in London in 2000, the e-commerce giant curates a selection of over 850 partner brands alongside its proprietary fashion labels, including ASOS Design and Topshop. Operating through localized digital storefronts and global distribution hubs, the company fulfills orders for millions of active customers across more than 150 countries.

We're ASOS. We blend our flair for fashion with our love of cutting- edge technology, but more importantly were interested in how we can bring the best out of you.

We exist to give people the confidence to be whoever they want to be, and that goes for our people too. At ASOS, you're free to be your true self without judgment, and channel your creativity into a platform used by millions.

ASOS Technology is going through an exciting period of investment and evolution, with several strategic programmes designed to support our continued global growth.

Within ASOS Technology, the Digital Data Engineering team builds high-quality, scalable data solutions across the ASOS Digital domain. The team works with modern data platforms and engineering practices, supports product teams with data-driven insights, and helps shape standards that balance speed, quality, and long-term sustainability.

As a Data Engineer, you’ll contribute to a range of data projects, working closely with engineers, analysts, and architects. You’ll help teams make the most of their data while continuing to grow your own skills through collaboration, learning, and shared problem-solving.

What you'll be doing:

  • Designing and delivering data solutions using the Microsoft Azure Data Platform
  • Collaborating with other engineers through pairing, code reviews, and shared problem-solving
  • Supporting teams in understanding data, telemetry, and operational issues
  • Exploring new tools or approaches through proof-of-concept work, including performance, data modelling, and cost considerations
  • Working with Lead Data Engineers, Engineering Managers, and Solution Architects to develop and improve engineering standards and practices
  • Building solutions that are reliable, well-tested, maintainable, and automated through modern CI/CD tooling
  • Contributing to an agile, cross-functional team and taking shared ownership of delivery quality
  • Staying curious about emerging data technologies and identifying opportunities to apply them where they add business value

What you’ll need

We’re keen to hear from Data Engineers who enjoy working with data, value good engineering practices, and are motivated by learning and collaboration.

You don’t need to meet every requirement below to apply. If this role sounds interesting and aligns with your experience or aspirations, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Experience delivering data solutions end to end
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Clear and thoughtful communication skills
  • A collaborative, supportive working style
  • Experience working with cloud-based data platforms
  • An understanding of how to build reliable, well-tested data systems

Technical expertise

  • Azure data technologies (e.g. Azure Cosmos DB, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory)
  • Python or another object-oriented programming language
  • Azure Databricks and/or Apache Spark
  • Reporting or visualisation tools such as Power BI, MicroStrategy, or similar platforms
  • CI/CD workflows, including automated build, test, and deployment pipelines
  • Version control systems such as Git
  • Exposure to Agile delivery frameworks (e.g. Scrum or Kanban)
  • Awareness of both cloud and on-premises infrastructure considerations

What's in it for you?

  • Employee discount (hello ASOS discount!)
  • Employee sample sales
  • 25 days paid annual leave + an extra celebration day for a special moment
  • Private medical care scheme
  • Fixed Annual Payment in addition to your salary each year, it's just an extra thank you from us
  • Opportunity for personalised learning and in-the-moment experiences that enable you to thrive and excel in your role
