The Job/What You’ll Do

We are seeking a Channel Product Manager to lead product strategy and platform enhancements for our Advisor Managed offering, including AMP and AAS. In this role, you will serve as the primary advocate for advisors and firms that actively manage client portfolios, ensuring their workflows, business needs, and regulatory requirements are reflected in the platform roadmap.

You will partner closely with advisors, field leadership, investment teams, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Technology, Wealth Solutions, Product, and Engineering to deliver scalable capabilities that improve advisor productivity, client experiences, operational efficiency, and platform adoption across multiple channels, including broker-dealer, Hybrid RIA, Independent RIA, and Bank Trust.

We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to our Concord, CA or Charlotte, NC offices.

Responsibilities:

Channel Representation and Advocacy

  • Serve as the primary platform and product representative for the Advisor Managed offering.
  • Gather, prioritize, and translate business needs from firms, advisors, and sales teams into clear platform requirements.
  • Advocate for advisor and firm workflows in product and roadmap discussions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to understand evolving investment management needs.
  • Ensure platform architecture supports scalable capabilities across multiple channels and use cases.

Product Strategy and Roadmap

  • Define, maintain, and communicate the platform product roadmap.
  • Align platform enhancements with investment strategy, advisor productivity goals, client experience priorities, and compliance or regulatory changes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve portfolio construction, model management, trading, reporting, and related platform capabilities.
  • Develop clear business requirements, user stories, and feature priorities.

Platform Feature Development

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to design and deliver capabilities that support:
    • Portfolio construction
    • Model portfolio management
    • Rebalancing and trading workflows
    • Performance analytics
    • Risk and compliance monitoring
    • Client reporting
    • Customization and channel-specific requirements
  • Guide features from discovery and requirements definition through delivery, launch, and continuous improvement.

Channel Workflow Optimization

  • Evaluate current platform workflows and define future-state requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve functionality, automation, scalability, and ease of use.
  • Drive enhancements that increase advisor efficiency and support the growth of the platform and its programs.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partner with Operations, Compliance, Legal, Technology, Wealth Solutions, Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders to deliver effective platform capabilities.
  • Ensure solutions meet business, regulatory, investment policy, usability, scalability, and support requirements.
  • Coordinate decision-making across teams and maintain alignment throughout the product development lifecycle.

Platform Adoption and Channel Enablement

  • Support the rollout and adoption of new platform capabilities.
  • Partner with advisor enablement, training, and support teams to ensure advisors understand and effectively use available tools.
  • Develop user documentation, training materials, best practices, and other enablement resources.
  • Promote education and adoption across the Advisor Managed Channel.

Platform Performance and Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to broader wealth platform transformation initiatives, including improvements to portfolio management tools, trading infrastructure, and advisor desktop capabilities.
  • Track platform usage, advisor productivity, workflow efficiency, and channel feedback.
  • Use data, user feedback, and performance insights to refine capabilities and prioritize future enhancements.
  • Lead or support performance improvement initiatives tied to measurable business outcomes.

Risk, Compliance, and Operational Alignment

  • Represent the Advisor Managed Channel in governance meetings and platform investment decisions.
  • Ensure platform capabilities align with AMK requirements and advisor firm policies.
  • Partner with Compliance, Operations, and other stakeholders on oversight tools, trade supervision, client suitability controls, and related requirements.
  • Help ensure new and enhanced capabilities meet applicable regulatory and operational standards.

Key Deliverables

  • Platform performance metrics and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Successful delivery of platform enhancements aligned with firm and advisor needs

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in product management, trading operations, preferably within wealth management, investment management, financial technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with trading systems such as VestMark, or InvestCloud.
  • Strong understanding of advisor workflows, portfolio management, trading, model portfolios, reporting, and investment operations.
  • Ability to translate complex business needs into clear product requirements and actionable priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Operations, Compliance, Legal, and Technology teams.
  • Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive initiatives from strategy through implementation.
  • Commitment to building scalable, intuitive, and compliant solutions that deliver meaningful value for advisors and their clients.

Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $120,000-$135,000.

This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
