Introduction to role:

Are you ready to turn strategic sourcing into measurable impact for patients and the planet? As Assistant Manager - Procurement for Alexion, you will support the procurement requirements of the site across technology, services, facilities, and other indirect categories. You will work closely with the Manager - Procurement and internal stakeholders to ensure timely, compliant, cost-effective, and sustainable procurement solutions.

You will be part of a collaborative, enterprise-minded that combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution. The role will support all indirect categories , supplier development, cost optimization, contract administration, and procurement process improvement. You will help strengthen supplier relationships, identify value opportunities, support business continuity, and ensure that procurement activities meet business and compliance requirements.

Accountabilities:

• IS&IT Category Support : Support end-to-end procurement for IS&IT products and services, including hardware, software, networks, connectivity, consumables and spares, ensuring reliability, security and value.
• Outsourced Services Management: Support sourcing, supplier evaluation, and contract administration for agencies and service providers covering PR, IFM services, security, event management, business development, advertising, transport, travel desk, facilities, and HR-related services such as training, recruitment, and employee relations.
• Budget Efficiency and Cost Outcomes: Support negotiations with suppliers, identify potential alternative sources, assist in developing bulk and annual contracts, and contribute to cost-saving and cost-avoidance initiatives without compromising quality or service continuity.

• Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with IS/IT, Facilities, SHE, Corporate Administration, HR, IT towers, R&D, and other business teams to understand requirements and support the timely delivery of procurement solutions.
• PR, PO, and GIN Cycle Support: Support improvements to the PR, PO, and GIN processes by coordinating with internal stakeholders and suppliers, monitoring transaction progress, and helping to resolve process-related issues.
• Procurement Continuity Support: Provide timely procurement support for urgent, routine, and capital requirements, helping to maintain continuity of supply and minimize potential business disruption.

• Import/Export Coordination: Manage import and export coordination to ensure compliance, on-time delivery and cost efficiency for technology and equipment.

· Contract Administration & maintenance : Support the preparation, implementation, and administration of annual contracts for hotels and accommodation, IT services, IFM services, and other relevant categories.

• Process Field and TAT: Follow SOPs for the PR-to-PO cycle; coordinate with suppliers and internal customers to meet agreed turnaround times and deliver a no-problem procurement experience.

• Reporting and Procurement Insights: Prepare monthly procurement reports and support the review of procurement performance, including spend, savings, cycle time, supplier performance, and open actions. Contribute to translating the data into improvement opportunities.
• Supplier Development and Governance Support: Support supplier onboarding, qualification, performance reviews, audits, compliance activities, and risk assessments. Assist in strengthening the supplier base and addressing supplier performance issues.
• Team and Cross-Functional Support: Support the Hub/ Central Procurement in coordinating the activities of the procurement team and in delivering cross-functional procurement initiatives. Assist in sharing procurement guidelines, processes, and best practices with relevant stakeholders.

Essential Skills/Experience:

• Approximately five years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Global Indirect Sourcing, preferably within STPI, EOU, or SEZ environments.
• Good understanding of procurement processes, policies, systems, and controls.
• Experience supporting the procurement of IS&IT products and services, including hardware, software, servers, consumables, routers, VPN connections, networks, bandwidth, and spares.
• Experience supporting the sourcing and selection of outsourced service providers and agencies for PR, IFM services, security, event management, business development, advertising, transport, travel desk, facilities, and HR services.
• Experience supporting the preparation and administration of annual contracts for hotels and accommodation, IT services, IFM services, and other indirect categories.
• Working experience in import and export coordination, including documentation, compliance, logistics, and supplier coordination.
• Experience supporting vendor development, supplier qualification, vendor audits, performance reviews, and supplier governance activities.
• Experience in creating , monitoring and improving the PR, PO, and GIN cycle, including adherence to agreed turnaround times.
• Experience preparing monthly procurement reports and reviewing procurement metrics to identify actions and improvement opportunities.
• Good communication, planning, organisational, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to develop constructive working relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Ability to support strategic sourcing, negotiations, supplier evaluation, and cost-improvement initiatives.
• Experience supporting or coordinating small teams and cross-functional projects.
• Ability to work independently on assigned activities while seeking guidance from the Central Procurement team for complex, high-risk, or high-value requirements.
