Summary of Position

As AstraZeneca Canada continues its digital transformation journey, our vision is to modernize the healthcare practitioner and patient experience through more personalized, integrated, and customer-centric marketing.

The Digital Marketing Intern will be a member of the Marketing Innovation & Digital Excellence team and will report to the Senior Manager, Marketing Innovation & Digital Excellence. The intern will support the planning, development, delivery, testing, and ongoing management of digital and omnichannel marketing initiatives across AstraZeneca Canada.

Working closely with Digital Customer Engagement Managers, Product Managers, Brand Teams, Global Commercial Services, agency partners, and other cross-functional stakeholders, the intern will help coordinate digital assets and operational processes from project initiation through Medical, Legal, and Regulatory review, testing, publishing, maintenance, and closure.

The position provides hands-on experience with digital marketing platforms, marketing process systems, customer engagement practices, cross-functional project coordination, and compliance requirements within a highly regulated environment. The intern will contribute to the successful and timely delivery of digital initiatives while developing an understanding of customer-centric marketing, omnichannel execution, and digital best practices.

What You’ll Do

Digital Marketing and Customer Engagement Support

  • Support Brand Teams during strategic and operational planning activities to help enhance customer centricity and integrated customer engagement.
  • Assist Digital Customer Engagement Managers and Product Managers with the coordination and execution of digital, multi-channel, and omnichannel marketing initiatives.
  • Support the development and launch of high-quality digital assets in partnership with Product Managers, Digital Customer Engagement Managers, Global Commercial Operations, agencies, and other cross-functional partners.
  • Learn and apply established digital marketing practices, processes, and channel requirements, while supporting the documentation and sharing of best practices across teams.
  • Support digital asset and content activities across channels such as email, websites, media, and sales representative platforms.
  • Assist with content tagging and other operational activities that support omnichannel execution and measurement.
  • Support key AI pilots & initiatives related to Digital Customer Engagement.

Veeva PromoMats and MLR Workflow Support

  • Assist Digital Customer Engagement Managers throughout Veeva PromoMats workflows, including project initiation, opening workflows, uploading assets, monitoring progress, completing closing activities, and maintaining appropriate documentation.
  • Help ensure digital asset processes follow established best practices and applicable Medical, Legal, and Regulatory requirements.
  • Support AstraZeneca Canada digital asset quality and compliance checks by identifying issues and coordinating follow-up with Marketing Managers, Digital Customer Engagement Managers, Product Managers, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Submit assets to BROCA translation services when French translation is required and track the asset through the applicable workflow.
  • Help internal stakeholders understand Veeva PromoMats and MLR workflow requirements by sharing approved documentation, process information, and guidance provided by the Marketing Innovation & Digital Excellence team.
  • Support Veeva PromoMats licence administration by coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders, processing access updates, reviewing inactive internal and external users, and troubleshooting issues with global IT teams as required.

Digital Asset Testing and Publishing

  • Work with Digital Customer Engagement Managers, Product Managers, and Global Commercial Operations to test and publish sales representative Veeva Emails, media, and other approved digital assets across testing and production environments, including Veeva CRM.
  • Review website, email, and media staging environments to help confirm that approved content is accurate, functional, and ready for publication.
  • Help identify and resolve technical or operational issues that could affect the timely availability of digital assets for sales representatives.
  • Coordinate issue resolution with Global Commercial Services, Enterprise Data Capabilities, Commercial Innovation, global IT teams, and other partners as required.
  • Support quality assurance checks and project closure activities after digital assets have been approved, tested, and published.

Project and Stakeholder Coordination

  • Support multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, escalating risks, obstacles, and decisions to the appropriate project owner.
  • Help maintain project plans, timelines, status updates, action logs, and supporting documentation.
  • Build collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Brand Teams, Product Managers, Digital Customer Engagement Managers, Global Commercial Operations, IT teams, creative agencies, media agencies, and production and development partners.
  • Support the coordination of activities with production and development partners to help ensure deliverables meet agreed timelines, requirements, and quality standards.
  • Support the development and maintenance of Marketing Innovation & Digital Excellence process documents, playbooks, and training resources.

Internal Platforms and Process Administration

  • Support the preparation and maintenance of AstraZeneca Canada internal stakeholder websites and resources, including RepZone, MarketingZone, AgencyZone, and the Digital Governance Framework.
  • Coordinate website updates for local and global project launches and assist with ongoing section maintenance based on stakeholder requirements.
  • Manage Smartsheet eBrief user access requests by adding new users and updating access when it is no longer required.
  • Escalate compliance questions or potential issues to the appropriate Digital Customer Engagement Manager, Product Manager, Marketing Manager, or Marketing Innovation & Digital Excellence team member.

Annual base salary for this position ranges from 42,908.00 to 56,316.75.

The range provided in this posting represents an offer pay range used in a majority of situations. In some cases, offers outside the range may also be considered to address unique circumstances.

In addition, our permanent positions offer an annual Variable Pay Bonus/Short Term Incentive opportunity as well as eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (if applicable to role). Benefits offered for permanent roles include a competitive Flex Benefits & Retirement Savings Program, 4 weeks’ paid vacation, and annual Personal Days.
