AstraZeneca is a British-Swedish pharmaceutical company formed in 1999 by the merger of Astra of Sweden and Zeneca of the United Kingdom, and now one of the largest drug makers in the world by revenue. Its portfolio is concentrated in oncology with Tagrisso, Imfinzi and Enhertu, alongside cardiovascular, renal and metabolic products including Farxiga, respiratory and immunology medicines, and a rare disease business built on the acquisition of Alexion. Headquartered in Cambridge in England and listed in London, Stockholm and New York, it reports in United States dollars.

Are you ready to harness patient-level data and scenario planning to guide high-stakes decisions for cardiovascular, renal and metabolic brands? Do you see yourself shaping US forecasts that help deliver life-changing medicines to patients faster and more reliably?

This role leads US forecasting for a dynamic portfolio for dyslipidemia, turning integrated insights into clear direction for launch and in-line brands. You will partner closely with Commercial, Competitive Intelligence, Finance, Medical, Market Access, Pricing and other senior stakeholders to align assumptions, pressure-test scenarios, and translate complex analytics into decisive actions that move the business forward.

Accountabilities:

  • US Forecast Ownership: Lead the development and delivery of robust US forecasts across annual planning, long-range planning, forecast updates and business reviews, ensuring clarity of drivers and confidence ranges.

  • Market Subject-Matter Leadership: Serve as the forecasting authority for prioritized markets and disease areas, bringing evidence-based viewpoints that shape commercial strategy.

  • Patient-based Modeling: Build patient-based models in Excel using credible assumptions synthesized from primary and secondary sources and benchmarked to relevant analogs; quantify risks, opportunities and uncertainty.

  • Scenario Planning and Storytelling: Develop scenarios that reflect business ambition and constraints; distill complex analyses into compelling narratives for senior commercial, medical and finance audiences.

  • Performance Tracking and Action: Monitor actuals versus forecast, diagnose variances, and recommend updates or targeted interventions to improve performance.

  • Customer Insight Advocacy: Champion the use of local customer insights in strategic and operational decisions, ensuring forecasts reflect real market dynamics.

  • Cross-functional Alignment: Facilitate forecast reviews and assumption-alignment sessions; document decisions, dissenting views, risks and follow-ups to maintain momentum and governance.

  • Capability Transformation: Identify, develop and embed new forecasting and analytics capabilities; drive adoption and integration across teams to elevate decision quality.

  • AI-enabled Forecasting and Automation: Validate and scale generative AI and advanced automation to improve forecasting efficiency and scenario agility while maintaining rigorous governance and compliance.

  • Continuous Improvement Culture: Promote learning, testing and rapid deployment of new methods; mentor teams to raise standards and speed without sacrificing quality.

  • External Scanning: Track emerging analytics and forecasting practices within and beyond pharma to bring differentiated advantages to the organization.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • 8+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience including: revenue forecasting utilizing epidemiology-based methodologies, claims, EHR/EMR, and other patient-level datasets, sales data analysis and qualitative/quantitative primary market research.

  • Proficiency in accessing, analyzing, and interpreting large longitudinal patient-level datasets, including open and closed medical claims, EHR/EMR data, IQVIA prescription and sales data, and other syndicated data sources.

  • MS Office with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Advanced modeling skills using Visual Basic, Power BI, SQL + R or Python are preferred.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, combined with strong leadership and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with senior business leaders and cross-functional business partners.

  • Strategic and critical thinking with the ability to engage, build and maintain credibility with Commercial Leadership teams.

  • Ability to manage a diverse range of simultaneous projects, timelines, and priorities with both internal stakeholders and external vendors.

  • An advanced degree is preferred (Master’s, MBA, or PhD)
