Your responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, monitor and tune IBM DB2 LUW databases across production, test and development environments, including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching and migrations.
- Diagnose performance issues, tune SQL and optimize queries, and troubleshoot complex database problems.
- Design and implement high availability, disaster recovery, backup and recovery, and replication solutions.
- Manage partitioned and clustered DB2 environments (DPF, pureScale), including capacity planning, storage management and performance monitoring.
- Support data warehouses and business-critical transactional systems, working with application, middleware, infrastructure, storage and network teams.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for database administration and operational tasks.
- Take part in incident resolution, root cause analysis and continuous service improvement.
What we expect
- Several years of hands-on experience as a DB2 LUW Database Administrator in enterprise environments.
- Strong experience with IBM DB2 LUW 10.x / 11.x, AIX and Linux administration, backup and recovery strategies, and HA/DR architectures.
- Performance tuning and database optimization, plus SQL development and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting large-scale database infrastructures and mission-critical applications.
- Knowledge of database replication technologies and business continuity solutions.
- Shell scripting experience (Bash, Korn Shell); Python or Perl is an advantage.
Nice to have
- IBM Power Systems, PowerVM and AIX environments.
- pureScale, DPF, HADR, TSA or PowerHA.
- Oracle database administration.
- SAN storage technologies (IBM, NetApp, EMC) and data storage solutions.
- Middleware environments (WebSphere, WebLogic).
- DevOps, automation and Infrastructure as Code practices.
