Hybrid working:  4 days in the office, 1 day from home

We are looking for an experienced hands-on Engineering Manager to lead our Infrastructure and Services team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing high-performing teams while being deeply involved in the technical aspects of highly scalable systems. 

Expertise in Node.js and TypeScript is essential, with a strong preference for additional experience in Go and AdTech.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a high-performance environment.
• Drive the design, development and delivery of high-scale software solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Provide technical leadership for the development and operation of high-throughput systems processing billions of requests per day.
• Actively participate in coding, code reviews, and architecture discussions to maintain technical excellence.
• Mentor and develop engineering talent, providing guidance and career development opportunities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define product requirements and deliverables, and work with your team to turn those into solutions.
• Ensure the team follows best practices for software development, testing, and deployment.
• Identify and resolve technical and organisational challenges, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role.
• Demonstrable expertise in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Proven experience designing, operating, and scaling complex infrastructure on cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS, using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
• Strong expertise in relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, and in-memory data stores, such as Redis.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools, along with a strong interest in applying AI to engineering workflows and automation.
• Extensive experience delivering high-scale, high-performance solutions.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure.

Nice-to-have:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science.
• Proficiency in Go is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of modern frontend frameworks and libraries used with TypeScript, such as SvelteKit or React, is a plus.
• In-depth understanding of the AdTech industry is a plus.
