Role overview:

We are looking for a Mid Ruby on Rails Developer to join our team and help build robust, scalable web applications. If you have extensive experience with Ruby on Rails, love crafting clean and maintainable code, and enjoy solving complex problems - this role is for you! You'll shape project architecture, optimize performance, and ensure code quality while collaborating with cross-functional teams. If you love solving complex problems and mentoring others, we'd love to have you on board!

Bonus if you've worked on healthcare-related products before.

Requirements:

• Expert in Ruby and Ruby on Rails (3+ years development experience)

• Strong knowledge of relational DBs design (e.g. PostgreSQL)

• Ability to implement various ways of communication with client (e.g. REST API, WebSockets)

• Ability to implement various ways of authentication (e.g. JWT, cookie-based auth, OAuth)

• Experience with CI/CD, deployment tools, Docker and Git

• Practical knowledge of design patterns and SOLID principles

• Practical experience in writing and maintaining automated tests using RSpec or similar testing frameworks.

• Practical knowledge of non-relational DBs, cache and message brokers systems

• Love for code review

• Fluent written and spoken English

• Fluent written and spoken Polish

• Experience with performance and optimization problems, ability to diagnose and solve them

• Ability to contribute to the design of project architecture based on business, functional, and non-functional requirements, with an understanding of scalability concepts and how to apply them.

• Ability to solve problems with high complexity, enjoy helping other developers

• Ability to define and improve internal standards for maintainability and style

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of JavaScript framework like Vue or React

• Experience with AWS or similar platform

• Experience with Web Server (e.g. Nginx)

• Degree in Computer Science or relevant field

• Experience working on a HealthTech / MedTech project

• Familiarity with healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7) or interest in learning them

• Awareness of HIPAA / GDPR compliance requirements in software development

• Experience integrating with EHR/EMR systems, medical devices, or wearables

• Interest in healthcare, medtech, or life sciences domain

Responsibilities:

• Design and build web applications using Ruby on Rails

• Design and implement relational databases

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features

• Write automated tests for your code including edge cases, usability, and general reliability

As a standard, we keep our recruitment processes short and to the point. Here is a detailed breakdown of the workflow for this position:

• Initial phone interview (20 min): We'll have a quick chat to get to know each other and discuss your experience. It's a great opportunity for us both to see if there's a good fit.

• Recruitment task: Following the interview, we will send you a short task to complete. You will have three working days to complete and return it.

• Technical interview (45-60 min): If your task is successful, you'll be invited to a technical interview. You will meet with a senior team member to dive deeper into your technical knowledge and discuss your solution.

• Culture fit meeting (20-30 min): Next, you'll have a relaxed chat with our IT Team Manager and a recruiter. We'll talk about our company values and see if your working style aligns with ours. As part of this stage, we will also ask you to provide professional work references to help us better understand your experience in the context of teamwork and our company culture.

• Meeting with the CEO (15 min): If you successfully pass the previous stages, we will invite you to meet with our CEO. This is a unique chance to hear firsthand about the company's vision, mission, and long-term goals, and to ask questions about the direction we are heading

• Decision and feedback: After all the stages are complete, we'll get back to you with our final decision and detailed feedback on your application.
