At the core of the role
In Bulgaria we're looking for an experienced solution architect who designs GenAI solutions that make it to production. You will work directly with clients to find high-value use cases, design end-to-end architectures, prototype quickly to reduce risk, and guide delivery teams through implementation.
You will work across industries and client contexts, using the latest models, agentic tools and methods. You'll have a dedicated token budget and room to explore new technologies in this space. You will also help shape Avenga's reusable GenAI reference architectures and accelerators.
Core skills you’ll bring
8+ years in software or solution architecture roles, including 2+ years designing GenAI or LLM-powered solutions.
Confident in client-facing settings - leading technical discovery, challenging requirements, and explaining trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong software engineering background - review production code, assess system design, and guide delivery teams on implementation quality.
Hands-on enough to build prototypes yourself (e.g. Python or TypeScript).
Hands-on experience with at least one modern AI coding tool - Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, etc; and judgment to review and correct the code they generate.
Experience with RAG architectures - retrieval strategies, embedding models, vector databases and reranking.
Experience with LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI) and open-weight SLMs / LLMs; and managing LLM costs.
Experience designing agentic solutions, including tool use, multi-step workflows and MCP.
Experience with at least one cloud AI platform, such as AWS Bedrock, Azure AI Foundry or Google Vertex AI.
Fluent English.
Nice-to-have
Agent frameworks (e.g. LangGraph).
Background in data science or machine learning.
Experience with multimodal AI.
The impact you'll create
Lead technical discovery on client engagements: identify high-value GenAI use cases and assess their feasibility (e.g. conversational interfaces, document processing, search augmentation, agentic workflow automation).
Design end-to-end GenAI architectures for new client products or to extend existing ones, covering model selection, integration patterns, data flows and deployment topology.
Own solution cost modelling: token estimation, model selection, caching strategies and infrastructure sizing.
Prototype and validate solutions quickly to reduce risk before full delivery begins.
Support pre-sales with solution proposals, estimates, and technical input to bids.
Set technical direction for delivery teams implementing GenAI solutions and ensure they are production ready.
Contribute to Avenga's GenAI accelerators - reusable reference architectures, integration templates and evaluation frameworks.
