About the Role :
We are looking for a Senior JavaScript Automation Test Engineer to join our Product Development team and take ownership of automation testing, quality engineering, and continuous improvement of our testing frameworks.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript automation, experience with modern UI and API automation frameworks, and the ability to lead and mentor a team of testers. You will work closely with Product, Development, and QA teams to ensure high-quality, reliable, and scalable software releases.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of QA/Test Engineers in automation and testing activities.
- Collaborate with Product, Development, Business, and QA teams to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Create comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases, and automation approaches.
- Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Build and enhance scalable UI and API automation frameworks.
- Develop automated regression, functional, integration, and end-to-end test suites.
- Identify, document, track, and validate defects through to resolution.
- Coordinate testing activities and ensure adequate test coverage across product releases.
- Define and enforce QA standards, automation best practices, and coding standards.
- Analyze test results and QA metrics to identify quality gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot issues and improve product quality.
- Contribute to continuous integration and continuous testing initiatives.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging automation tools, technologies, and testing best practices.
- Actively participate in QA planning, sprint ceremonies, retrospectives, and technical discussions.
Required Technical Skills :
Programming :
- Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.
- 4 - 6 years of practical experience working with JavaScript/TypeScript in automation testing.
UI Automation :
Strong experience with :
- Playwright
- Mocha
- Chai
Good understanding or working experience with :
- Jest
- Puppeteer
- Cypress
- WebdriverIO
API & Web Services Testing :
- Experience in Web Service and REST API Test Automation.
- Ability to design API test scenarios, test cases, and automation frameworks.
- Good understanding of API validation, response codes, request/response handling, and test data management.
Automation Frameworks :
- Experience designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing automation frameworks.
- Understanding of scalable automation architecture and reusable test components.
- Experience with regression, functional, integration, and end-to-end automation.
Experience & Qualifications :
- 6 - 9 years of overall experience in Automation Testing.
- Strong focus on JavaScript-based automation testing.
- 4 - 6 years of hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript.
- 1+ year of relevant team leadership/mentoring experience.
- Strong experience in UI automation and API automation.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum product development environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- B2+ level English proficiency.
