Job Title: R&D Member of Technical Staff - II, Product Development

The job

At AVEVA, we are looking for a talented developer with the skills and passion to successfully implement complex technical solution to join our PI Visualization team.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (planning, estimation, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives).

• Deliver production-quality software with guidance-accurate estimates, on-time delivery, and alignment to AVEVA standards.

• Design, implement, test, and debug features across UI and API layers; learn new areas of the codebase as needed.

• Maintain and improve existing codebases with appropriate code reviews, unit tests, and documentation.

• Follow established engineering practices: team processes, coding standards, branching strategy, and definition of done.

• Apply secure engineering basics: understand security requirements, implement secure solutions, and validate via testing aligned to industry best practices.

Essential requirements

• Bachelor’s/master’s in computer science/engineering (or equivalent practical experience).

• 2-4 years of software development experience with hands-on coding in C#/.NET and JavaScript/UI.

• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, core design patterns, and clean code principles.

• Experience building/consuming RESTful APIs.

• Experience with unit testing (and exposure to UI testing), with a quality-first mindset.

• Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-architected, and well-tested code.

• Strong problem-solving, debugging skills, and eagerness to learn.

• Good communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.

Desired skills and competencies

• Experience with modern UI frameworks (Angular and/or React) and delivering user-facing features end-to-end.

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and engineering hygiene (build quality, basic release awareness).

• Familiarity with secure coding basics (input validation, dependency hygiene) and eagerness to learn security best practices.

• Demonstrated learning mindset-quickly picking up new tools/tech and applying feedback from reviews.

• Collaborative teammate-supports peers, participates in reviews, and shares knowledge to raise team quality.

Preferred Experience

• Experience developing industrial/process data visualization products (e.g., time series and historian-based platforms).

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot).

Hybrid working
