Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Solutions Engineer with a strong focus on Radio Access Network (RAN) technologies, including expertise in 4G/LTE and a deep understanding of Traditional RAN and Open RAN. In this role, you will contribute to the creation of RAN products and solutions for AWTG's Network Management and Service Assurance automated tools, ensuring our RAN solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with business and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • RAN Planning and Design:
    • Participate in the planning and design of RAN infrastructure to meet current network requirements and ensure scalability for future growth.
    • Select and specify hardware and software components required for the RAN, including base stations, antennas, and network management systems.
    • Apply deep expertise in wireless communication systems, including RF propagation and cellular network architecture, during the planning and design phases.
  • Configuration and Deployment:
    • Configure and deploy RAN components, optimizing network performance and reliability by managing RAN parameters such as RRC, PDCP, RLC, MAC, and relevant ORAN parameter objects like HiPhy.
  • Network Optimization:
    • Continuously monitor and optimize RAN performance using advanced tools and techniques.
    • Derive algorithms for the automation of optimization functions to enhance network efficiency and performance.
    • Analyse network performance data, including RAN Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and performance counters, to develop strategies that enhance network quality and user experience.
    • Implement network performance management practices to ensure high reliability and efficiency of the RAN.
  • Technical Documentation:
    • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation related to RAN design, deployment, and optimization processes, ensuring it supports operational needs and aligns with sales and marketing strategies.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with internal teams, including network operations, maintenance, and engineering, as well as external stakeholders such as customers, partners, and suppliers, to ensure the smooth operation and deployment of RAN solutions.
    • Strong emphasis on communication, with excellent writing and presentation skills required to effectively convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.

Core Competencies:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and address challenges in RAN design and performance. They must exhibit excellent communication abilities, particularly in writing and presentation, to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Attention to detail, adaptability in a fast-paced environment, and a customer-focused mindset are essential, alongside proficiency in network design, security integration, and RAN technologies such as 4G/LTE, Traditional RAN, and Open RAN.

Business Acumen:

A strong understanding of technical deliveries and cost optimization strategies is crucial, with an ability to manage multiple RAN-related deliverables while ensuring alignment with project objectives. The candidate should have a solid grasp of market analysis and customer engagement, helping to develop competitive RAN solutions that meet market demands. Additionally, experience in strategic planning and stakeholder management is vital to ensure RAN solutions align with the company's vision and long-term goals.

Technical Knowledge:

The candidate should have a strong foundation in wireless communication systems, including RF propagation and cellular network architecture, with specific expertise in 4G/LTE, Traditional RAN, and Open RAN architectures. Familiarity with radio planning tools such as Atoll, Planet, or Asset is essential, along with a deep understanding of Open RAN components (CU, DU, RU) and their integration with Fronthaul solutions and Core Networks, Service Management Orchestrators, and RAN Intelligent Controllers. The role also demands knowledge of standards such as ISO27001 (Information Security Management), ISO9001 (Quality Management Systems), 3GPP, and ORAN standards.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with a focus on RAN Parameters, RAN Counters, and RAN features for 4G and Traditional RAN, with special focus on 5G and ORAN.

Why Join Us?

  • Innovation: Be at the forefront of RAN technology, contributing to cutting-edge solutions in 5G and Private Networks.
  • Collaboration: Work with a talented team across various disciplines to create impactful RAN solutions.
  • Growth: Take advantage of opportunities for professional development and career advancement in a fast-growing industry.
