Manual Test Engineer

We are looking for a strong Manual Test Engineer who can take ownership of end-to-end product quality, develop comprehensive test scenarios, execute functional and regression testing, identify defects, and work closely with developers and product teams to ensure high-quality releases.

Responsibilities:

• Understand business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and product specifications.
• Create detailed test scenarios, test cases, test data, and test execution plans.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, sanity, and exploratory testing.
• Validate end-to-end workflows across web/API-based applications.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects with clear reproduction steps.
• Work closely with developers, product managers, business stakeholders, and other QA engineers to resolve defects.
• Participate in requirement discussions and identify potential quality risks early in the development lifecycle.
• Perform API testing using tools such as Postman or similar tools.
• Validate backend responses, data integrity, and application behavior.
• Execute regression suites for new releases and enhancements.
• Support release validation and ensure applications meet defined quality standards.
• Investigate production issues and contribute to root-cause analysis.
• Maintain test documentation, test reports, defect reports, and QA metrics.
• Collaborate with the engineering team in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Ensure comprehensive coverage of critical business and customer journeys.
• Contribute to improving QA processes, testing standards, and overall product quality.

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience in manual testing/software testing.
• Good understanding of SDLC and STLC.
• Strong knowledge of test case design and defect life cycle.
• Experience with functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, and exploratory testing.
• Good experience with API testing and tools such as Postman.
• Understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, status codes, and JSON.
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Good knowledge of SQL/database validation is preferred.
• Experience with defect management tools such as Jira or similar.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of testing activities.

Preferred Candidate Background:

• Candidates from product companies, GCCs, startups, good service companies, or service companies working with strong product-based clients.
• Candidates with experience working on financial technology, trading, crypto, payments, banking, or other transaction-heavy products would be an advantage.
• Strong ownership of end-to-end testing and quality rather than only test execution.
• Immediate joiners or candidates serving notice are preferred.
