Are you an experienced engineering leader who enjoys developing people, products and collaboration? Join our Intercom team in Lund as Engineering Manager for Intercom Hardware and lead a highly skilled team developing hardware for products that help create a smarter, safer world.

Who is your future team?

The Intercom HW team consists of 11 highly skilled electronics and mechanical engineers. The team is part of the recently created Intercom Solutions department, where hardware and software teams work closely together to develop competitive intercom products and solutions.

Our way of working is highly collaborative. Electronics and mechanics meet software, industrialization, quality and product development, and we solve challenges together across disciplines. As Engineering Manager, you will have an important role in creating the conditions for the team to perform, develop and enjoy their work.

You will also collaborate with colleagues at 2N, part of the Axis group. Together, we want to make the most of our complementary experience in intercom and access control, sharing knowledge, identifying opportunities for collaboration and strengthening the solutions we bring to our customers and partners.

What You'll Do

As Engineering Manager, you will combine people leadership with a strong understanding of hardware product development. You will stay close to the technology and our products while enabling the engineers and technical experts in your team to do their best work.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Shape long-term strategies and roadmaps for where your team should be in 3-5 years, aligned with overall company and Intercom direction.
• Lead, coach and develop your team, fostering collaboration, psychological safety and high performance.
• Build long-term team capability through recruitment, competence development and individual growth.
• Drive execution of our hardware development plans and support successful product development from early concepts through verification, industrialization and volume production.
• Work closely with Project Managers and other stakeholders to establish priorities, allocate resources and address technical or resource challenges.
• Strengthen collaboration across electronics, mechanics, software, QA, Technology, Operations and other parts of Axis, as well as with 2N.
• Own budget and investment planning for the team, including the capabilities and development environment the team needs for the future.
• Be an active member of the Intercom Solutions management team and contribute to building and developing the department as a whole.

You enjoy working across disciplines, sharing knowledge, and taking responsibility for your part of the product development journey. You're proactive, results-oriented, and motivated by seeing your teams designs come to life in real products.

What we need you to bring:

• Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Experience as a line manager for hardware engineers in a technical environment, including people development and setting and maintaining long-term strategic goals.
• Demonstrated experience in developing hardware products
• Ability to work collaboratively across functions and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
• A proactive approach with high initiative and a drive to deliver quality results
• Fluent in English (required for daily work)
• Good proficiency in Swedish
• Willingness to travel occasionally

Bonus points if you also have:

• Familiarity with regulatory certification processes, such as EMC, RED, and Safety directives
• Working knowledge of Xpedition (schematic/layout tool) and/or Windchill (PLM)
• Experience collaborating with suppliers and guiding a product through manufacturing at an EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) provider
• Comfort with the full product lifecycle - from development concept to volume production
