Role Overview:
As an Android Developer, you will be responsible for architecting and maintaining high-performance mobile applications that serve as the primary interface for our clients. You will work closely with product managers, backend engineers, and UX designers to translate complex immigration workflows into intuitive, seamless mobile experiences. Your work will directly impact the efficiency of our service delivery, ensuring that users can manage their immigration documentation and status updates with reliability and ease, regardless of their location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop robust, scalable Android applications using Java and Kotlin to ensure high availability for global users.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate complex backend APIs and ensure data integrity across the mobile platform.
- Optimize application performance and memory management by leveraging the Android SDK and Android NDK to handle intensive data processing tasks.
- Implement sophisticated Mobile UI and UX designs to create a frictionless experience for users navigating immigration procedures.
- Conduct comprehensive mobile app testing and debugging to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks or security vulnerabilities.
- Manage local data storage and synchronization using SQLite to ensure offline accessibility for critical user documents.
- Utilize RxJava to manage asynchronous data streams and improve the responsiveness of the application during high-traffic periods.
- Maintain high code quality standards through rigorous code reviews and the implementation of best practices within the Android framework.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in building and deploying enterprise-grade Android applications using both Java and Kotlin.
- Deep understanding of the Android SDK, Android Studio, and the underlying Android framework to build modular and maintainable codebases.
- Proven ability to translate complex design wireframes into responsive Mobile UI and UX components that adhere to modern design standards.
- Proficiency in managing local databases with SQLite and handling complex asynchronous operations using RxJava.
- Experience in performance optimization using the Android NDK for compute-heavy tasks.
- Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot complex technical issues and a proactive approach to continuous integration and deployment.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively within a distributed, remote-first environment across multiple time zones.
- Ability to work independently and manage project timelines in a fast-paced, international business setting.
- Candidates must possess between 3 to 12 years of professional experience in Android development.
