Are you an experienced fleet professional with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, managing supplier relationships, and driving operational excellence? We're looking for a Fleet Operations Manager to take ownership of in-life fleet operations, ensuring vehicles remain compliant, cost-effective, and fully operational for our customers.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing mission critical customer fleets, working closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and customers to provide a seamless operational experience while delivering against key performance indicators and service level agreements.

As Fleet Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of customer fleet operations, ensuring vehicles are maintained, compliant, and available to support customer needs. You will act as the primary operational contact for customers and suppliers, building strong relationships and driving continuous improvement across fleet performance.

You'll oversee all aspects of in-life vehicle management, including:

  • Vehicle maintenance and compliance

  • Vehicles off road (VOR) management

  • Hire vehicle arrangements

  • Accident and breakdown management

  • Supplier performance and relationship management

  • Operational reporting and KPI delivery

Working collaboratively across Operations, Commercial, Account Management, and supplier networks, you'll ensure customers receive a reliable, efficient, and cost-effective fleet service.

Key Responsibilities

Fleet Operations & Service Delivery

  • Manage all in-life vehicle activity and fleet operational processes.

  • Ensure vehicles are maintained to agreed service levels and customer requirements.

  • Monitor and manage vehicle compliance, maintenance schedules, and operational performance.

  • Take ownership of vehicles off road (VOR), breakdowns, hires, and accident management processes.

  • Support Critical Operations Managers and the wider operations team with fleet expertise and operational insight.

  • Identify opportunities to improve service performance and reduce operational costs.

Customer & Supplier Relationship Management

  • Build trusted relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

  • Act as the operational point of contact for customers, providing expert fleet guidance and support.

  • Support supplier onboarding and ongoing supplier governance activities.

  • Conduct regular supplier and client review meetings to track fleet performance and resolve issues.

  • Work closely with Commercial, Operations, and Customer Service teams to deliver customer requirements.

Financial Management

  • Monitor fleet-related expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Support management of customer in-life spend and vehicle pricing activities.

  • Work with commercial teams to maximise customer value and business revenue.

  • Analyse supplier and network costs, developing recommendations for efficiency improvements.

Reporting & Performance Management

  • Maintain accurate fleet records and documentation in line with GDPR requirements.

  • Ensure activity is managed through relevant supplier management systems and platforms.

  • Produce accurate reporting, forecasting, and operational updates.

  • Monitor and deliver against agreed KPIs and SLAs.

  • Provide data and insights to support operational decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience within fleet management, fleet operations, or a similar operational environment.
  • Experience managing complex fleet operations and vehicle compliance requirements.

  • Understanding of supplier performance management and service delivery frameworks.

  • Proven experience managing supplier and customer relationships.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyse operational data and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience working independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and customer-focused team where you'll have real ownership, influence operational performance, and help shape the future of fleet service delivery.
