At Backbase, we are on a mission to re-architect banking around the customer. As an Account Executive,you will carry a dedicated sales quota within your regional sales team,taking full ownership of meeting and exceeding your revenue targets.
You will manage the end-to-end sales cycle-from prospecting and qualifying regional enterprise opportunities to negotiating and closing high-impact software deals exceeding €/$1M+. Working closely with regional partners, pre-sales engineers, and demand generation teams, you will act as a strategic advisor to tier-1 financial institutions and regional banks looking to modernize their digital banking platforms.
What You’ll Do
Drive Revenue & Territory Strategy: Plan your regional territory go-to-market approach, allocate resources effectively, and independently own your sales pipeline to meet or exceed quota targets.
Execute Enterprise Sales Cycles: Identify, qualify, and lead complex multi-stakeholder enterprise deals from initial engagement through contract execution and closing.
Collaborate on Technical & Commercial Pitches: Partner with Demand Generation specialists, Solution Architects, and Pre-Sales consultants to coordinate deep-dive technical workshops, proof-of-concepts (POCs), and comprehensive RFP/RFI responses.
Negotiate & Close: Lead contract negotiations, commercial pricing strategies,and service terms with C-level stakeholders and procurement teams.
Cultivate Strategic Alliances: Build and nurture strong regional partner ecosystems (system integrators and advisory firms) to drive co-selling motions that generate net-new Backbase software license wins alongside partner implementation services.
Mentorship & Leadership: Act as a subject matter expert across modern banking architectures and mentor junior team members (such as Business Development Representatives).
What You Bring
Proven Hunter Track Record: 5-8+ years of quota-carrying enterprise software sales experience (SaaS/Enterprise License models),consistently meeting or exceeding seven-figure targets.
FinTech & Banking Acumen: Strong working knowledge of digital banking platforms, core banking solutions, financial technology ecosystems, and enterprise IT procurement within banking institutions.
Executive Presence: Proven ability to build credibility and navigate relationships at the C-suite level (CIO, CTO, Head of Digital, Head of Retail/Corporate Banking).
Partner Alignment: Demonstrated experience co-selling alongside global and regional system integrators (SIs) and consulting partners.
Communication Skills: Professional fluency in English; proficiency in local regional languages is strongly preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
