Role Description:
The Configuration Engineer will ensure that the company configuration managementprocedures are implemented across all products in a considered and consistent manner, in accordance with company procedures
Core duties:
- Ensure that Configuration Management(CM) requirements are disseminated across all contracted projects
- Liaise with Customers to define, clarify, and correctly interpret CM specifications and requirements
- Proactivelyadvise and support programs on all aspects of CM, being the interface for documentation managementand control
- Provide bid support through the generation of estimates in-accordance-with CM estimating metrics
- Regularly review resource requirement, project planning and contribute to process improvements
- Manageand maintain project status data within your area of responsibility
Essential Skills:
- An applied understanding of the key elements of Configuration Management(CM) and be able to support audits
- Capability of applying industry CM standards requirements
- Conversant with CMII process model
- Ability to apply configuration identification techniques as to provide guidance to project and engineering teams
- Demonstrable expertisein configuration status accounting
- Knowledge of engineering, manufacturing, and full project lifecycles
The ConfigurationManagement Team:
As part of this role you will work closely with Engineers and Engineering Project Managers to ensure that Configuration Management(CM) requirements are disseminated across all contracted projects, and they are documented and maintained in an appropriate Configuration ManagementPlan in accordance with industry standards.
