Job Description:

Are you a growth-minded assurance leader who thrives on building relationships, opening doors, and creating opportunities for clients and colleagues?

Baker Tilly is seeking an Assurance Growth Principal - Industrial & Consumer Products to help accelerate the continued growth of our well-established Industrial & Consumer Products (ICP) practice.

This is a market-facing growth role for an experienced assurance professional with a strong network and a passion for business development. You will focus on identifying and acquiring new clients, expanding Baker Tilly's presence in priority markets, and connecting clients and prospects with the full breadth of the firm's capabilities.

You will join an established team of industry-focused professionals with deep experience serving middle-market businesses. Rather than building a practice from the ground up, you will have the opportunity to leverage Baker Tilly's existing industry platform, relationships, resources, and broad service stack to create meaningful solutions for clients and drive sustainable growth.

You will enjoy this role if:

  • You are energized by winning new clients and developing new relationships in the Industrial Consumer Products industry.

  • You enjoy being in the market, building a network, creating opportunities, and converting relationships into long-term clients.

  • You see assurance as an entry point to a broader client relationship and enjoy bringing the full capabilities of the firm to solve complex business challenges.

  • You have strong executive relationships and can engage naturally with CFOs, controllers, audit committees, private equity sponsors, owners, and other senior decision-makers.

  • You want to join an established industry practice where you can leverage a strong brand, experienced professionals, and a broad portfolio of services to accelerate growth.

  • You are highly collaborative and enjoy bringing together specialists from across the firm to develop differentiated solutions for clients.

  • You want to contribute to the strategic direction and market position of a growing national Industrial & Consumer Products practice.

What You Will Do

Drive New Client Acquisition

  • Serve as a key growth leader for Baker Tilly's Industrial & Consumer Products Assurance practice, with a primary focus on new client acquisition and revenue growth in the Southern California market.

  • Develop and execute a targeted go-to-market strategy focused on priority companies, markets, referral sources, and centers of influence.

  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities and actively lead pursuits from initial relationship development through proposal, presentation, negotiation, and close.

  • Leverage your existing network while continuously developing new relationships with executives, board members, private equity professionals, attorneys, bankers, and other key market influencers.

  • Represent Baker Tilly in the marketplace through industry organizations, conferences, events, thought leadership, and other business development activities.

  • Develop deep relationships with prospective clients by understanding their businesses, strategic priorities, challenges, and growth objectives.

Bring the Whole Firm to the Client

  • Identify opportunities to introduce clients and prospects to the full Baker Tilly service stack.

  • Collaborate with leaders across tax, advisory, consulting, technology, risk, transaction services, and other capabilities to bring integrated solutions to the market.

  • Connect client needs with the right Baker Tilly professionals and capabilities, creating relationships that extend beyond an individual service or engagement.

  • Develop account strategies that position Baker Tilly as a long-term business advisor rather than solely an assurance provider.

  • Create opportunities for colleagues across the firm while partnering with other growth leaders to bring their relationships and capabilities into the Industrial & Consumer Products marketplace.

Contribute to an Established Industry Practice

  • Become an active leader within Baker Tilly's established Industrial & Consumer Products practice, collaborating with industry, service, and geography leadership on growth priorities.

  • Bring marketplace insights, relationships, and client perspectives back to the broader industry team to help shape strategy and identify emerging opportunities.

  • Partner with existing client service leaders and technical professionals to ensure a seamless transition from business development to client delivery.

  • Help strengthen Baker Tilly's brand and reputation as a leading advisor to middle-market industrial and consumer products companies.

  • Support the development of industry-specific solutions, thought leadership, events, and market campaigns that create opportunities and differentiate Baker Tilly in the marketplace.

  • Serve as a connector and mentor to professionals across the practice, helping others strengthen their business development capabilities, expand their networks, and serve clients with excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required; master's or advanced degree desirable.

  • CPA required.

  • Eight (15) + years of experience in public accounting or professional services, with significant experience serving Industrial & Consumer Products companies.

  • Demonstrated success originating and winning significant new relationships and generating sustainable revenue growth.

  • Established network of executives, referral sources, centers of influence, and other relationships relevant to the Industrial & Consumer Products marketplace.

  • Strong understanding of financial statement audits and the business, financial, operational, and strategic issues facing middle-market industrial and consumer products companies.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify client needs beyond assurance and successfully connect clients with broader tax, advisory, consulting, technology, transaction, risk, and other professional services.

  • Executive presence and exceptional relationship-building, communication, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to independently develop opportunities while succeeding in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment.

  • Ability to navigate a complex professional services organization and mobilize teams across service lines, geographies, and specialties around client opportunities.

  • Commitment to Baker Tilly's culture of integrity, excellence, collaboration, servant leadership, and purposeful growth.

  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role will be measured primarily by your ability to create and convert new opportunities, acquire new clients, generate profitable revenue, and expand Baker Tilly's relationships across the Industrial & Consumer Products marketplace.

You will be successful when you are known in the market as a trusted connector and advisor; when you consistently bring new relationships into the firm; when you mobilize the right Baker Tilly capabilities around client needs; and when your efforts contribute to the continued growth and market leadership of an already strong Industrial & Consumer Products practice.
