Position Summary:

Global Information Security (GIS) is responsible for protecting bank information systems, confidential and proprietary data, and customer information. GIS develops the bank’s Information Security strategy and policy, manages the Information Security program, identifies and addresses vulnerabilities, and operates a global security operations center that monitors, detects, and responds to cybersecurity incidents. Within GIS, Identity and Access Management (IAM) is a security discipline that enables the right individuals to access the right resources at the right times and in the right context. IAM addresses the mission-critical need to ensure appropriate access across increasingly heterogeneous technology environments and to meet increasingly rigorous compliance requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and steer IAM standards, governance models, controls, and effectiveness measures for public cloud, SaaS, Generative AI, machine learning, and Agentic AI environments.

  • Lead comparative assessments of IAM and identity-security capabilities across AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and emerging AI platforms, evaluating strategic alignment, security, control coverage, integration complexity, sustainability, and implementation effort.

  • Evaluate cloud-native, enterprise, and vendor-provided IAM solutions against business requirements, regulatory expectations, target-state architecture, existing investments, and long-term operating-model objectives.

  • Develop recommendations, decision frameworks, roadmaps, and reusable IAM patterns for cloud and AI adoption, including identity lifecycle management, human and non-human identities, authentication, authorization, privileged access, secrets management, and entitlement governance.

  • Assess identity and access implications of AI solutions, including AI agents, models, platforms, APIs, data sources, tools, and agent-to-agent interactions, with particular focus on ownership, least privilege, lifecycle governance, runtime authorization, traceability, and access drift.

  • Partner with cloud, AI, cybersecurity, architecture, engineering, product, risk, and compliance teams to identify control gaps, compare solution alternatives, and translate strategic requirements into actionable recommendations.

  • Monitor public cloud, AI, IAM, and cybersecurity market developments and use industry research, peer practices, and regulatory guidance to inform IAM strategy, standards, investment priorities, and vendor direction.

  • Drive modernization and risk-reduction initiatives that improve cloud and AI identity governance, reduce reliance on legacy or highly customized approaches, and promote scalable, cloud-native and sustainable capabilities.

  • Lead IAM assessments for new cloud services, AI use cases, platforms, and vendors, documenting risks, dependencies, control requirements, strategic fit, and recommended disposition.

  • Represent IAM with senior management, Audit, Compliance, Operational Risk, regulators, and independent assessment organizations on public cloud and AI identity risks, controls, strategy, and remediation plans.

  • Develop executive-level analysis, presentations, decision materials, and recommendations that clearly explain complex cloud and AI identity considerations, options, tradeoffs, risks, and proposed outcomes.

  • Influence enterprise technology decisions, investment priorities, architecture direction, and vendor strategies to support IAM, public cloud, and AI objectives.

What you can expect in Identity & Access Management:

In today’s highly connected world, managing and securing the identity of users is essential to the safety and success of our workforce. The Identity & Access Management (IAM) team works within Global Information Services (GIS) and in close participation with all other LOB teams as well as second and third line of defense partners. This role is highly visible and requires frequent interaction with senior management and key stakeholders.

The Senior IAM Information Security Threat Lead will analyze, strengthen, and secure the company's IAM systems and overall risk posture for end user, application and privileged access management. The individual in this role will be a leader in the IAM innovation space, working with senior leaders to implement new technologies and frameworks. This role requires collaboration with technology peers to modernize the IAM ecosystem for securing evolving technologies and identities.

The role also applies knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, and information security frameworks (e.g., NIST, COBIT, ISO) to establish and maintain policies, validate alignment of processes and controls to requirements, report on adherence to policy requirements, and maintain governance programs related to IAM Standard controls. Expectations include leveraging data analytics, governance process management, and cross-functional partnerships to verify policy compliance, identify gaps, and support remediation activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management, information security, technology risk, enterprise architecture, public cloud security, or related disciplines within a large, complex, and highly regulated organization.

  • Broad working knowledge of IAM principles and capabilities, including identity lifecycle governance, authentication, authorization, privileged access management, non-human identities, secrets management, least privilege, and Zero Trust.

  • Demonstrated understanding of public cloud IAM and security capabilities across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, with the ability to compare platform approaches, strengths, limitations, control models, and enterprise integration considerations.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Generative AI, machine learning, large language models, AI agents, Agentic AI, and related identity and access risks, without requiring deep engineering or model-development expertise.

  • Experience conducting comparative technology, architecture, product, or vendor assessments and developing fact-based recommendations based on strategic alignment, functionality, security, risk, cost, implementation effort, sustainability, and operational fit.

  • Ability to evaluate cloud-native solutions against enterprise, hybrid, and legacy alternatives and recommend pragmatic target-state and transitional approaches.

  • Familiarity with AI and cybersecurity risk frameworks and guidance, such as NIST AI Risk Management Framework, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, MITRE ATLAS, OWASP guidance for AI and large language model applications, ISO 27001, COBIT, and applicable regulatory expectations.

  • Understanding of modern identity considerations for cloud and AI, including workload identities, service principals, managed identities, short-lived credentials, token-based access, API authorization, policy-based access, identity and entitlement drift, and human and non-human access governance.

  • Ability to interpret complex technical, market, regulatory, and vendor information and translate it into concise executive analysis, strategic options, roadmaps, control requirements, and investment recommendations.

  • Experience partnering across cybersecurity, cloud engineering, AI and data teams, enterprise architecture, product management, compliance, operational risk, Audit, and senior leadership.

  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to challenge assumptions, identify architectural and control gaps, assess emerging technologies, and distinguish production-ready capabilities from developing or vendor-roadmap functionality.

  • Highly organized and motivated self-starter who can lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and deliver results with minimal direction in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to communicate with business leaders, technical teams, risk partners, and senior executives and influence enterprise outcomes.
