Job Description

Purpose of the role

To manage and monitor Third Party risk and performance to meet the requirements of the Barclays Third party Service provider Policy and Standards, through control execution, commercial management, relationship and risk management.

Accountabilities

  • Management and execution of the Third Party Service Provider control processes, including oversight of Third Party Service Provider and their performance, monitoring of KPIs to guarantee expectations are met.

  • Collaboration with various stakeholder groups to produce deliverables that meet procurement needs, policies and standards, mitigate Third Party Service Provider risks and issues and ensure Third Party Service Provider relationship align to the bank’s needs and business strategy.

  • Identification of Third Party Service Providers that will provide the right goods and service through market research, capabilities analysis and contract negotiation.

  • Identification of industry trends and developments related to Third Party Service Provider management tools and techniques by attending conferences and participating in training.

  • Monitoring of Third Party Service Providers’ control operation to meet Barclays Third party Service provider Management Standards and contractual obligations including quality standards, risk mitigation and commercial activity.

  • Collaboration with regulatory teams to support Global regulatory requests/exams/ongoing activity.

  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.

As a Supplier Service Manager, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our supplier relationships support the delivery of high-quality services, strong governance, and continuous improvement across Merchant Services Operations. In this role, you will act as a key interface between internal stakeholders and external suppliers, ensuring services are delivered in line with contractual commitments, operational standards, and regulatory requirements. You will monitor performance, manage risk and controls, and help drive operational efficiency while maintaining strong supplier relationships.

This opportunity offers flexible working with a part-time arrangement of three days per week, enabling you to balance your professional contribution with other commitments while remaining an integral part of the team.

Key Skills:

  • Detailed knowledge and experience of procurement.

  • In-depth understanding of operations management best practices, including risk, control, business continuity, and supporting systems.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to present clear and relevant business performance updates and recommendations.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working in a Service Manager or Supplier Manager role.

  • Knowledge of products, services, and systems used across Merchant Services Operations.

  • Experience working within a governance or oversight role.

  • Ability to adapt and flex your approach to meet changing business priorities and deadlines.
